@ fadingdaylight: If you haven't already, before you leave your current duty, check out the Enchanted Valley Trail. You won't be disappointed. I promise.

I grew up in Toledo, drwatson. My 96 year old father still lives there. He rarely strayed from Sir Walter Raleigh! I now live near San Luis Obispo, California - half way between Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Normandy
I was born in the North of England midway between Liverpool and Manchester in a town called Wigan. Wigan is an old town, it goes back to at least Roman times when it was called Coccium, the name Wigan being coined in the 7th Century. Like alot of towns in the North of England Wigan it's in slow decline but it's had it moments.
I now live in France in a tiny village called Gadencourt, right at the bottom of higher Normandy, around 60 miles from Paris. Another area oozing with history, the Romans and Viking left their mark here and then later the French civil war and WW2 came through the area.

I was born in Britagne. Raised in Norther California. I live in Tucson Arizona right now. I travel a lot. Did a show in India a year ago and had some oddly good cigars, got me nic sic like crazy but I loved it. We have a few tobacco places here but nothing really potent. Still better than nothin'.

What a great thread! I think technology has impacted our lives in good ways but some very bad. If there were some pipers that I knew around me we could start a club! I think because of technology the old art of initiating and carrying on a conversation has dwindled and that's sad. Newburgh, NY 12 miles north of West Point in the Hudson Valley region of NYS.

Kennesaw, GA
I've lived in mostly the East Valley of Phoenix, AZ for most my life, but recently(as of 10/13) moved to a city just NW of Atlanta, GA called Kennesaw. This city's claim to fame, is an ordinance that all residents own and keep a gun with ammo.
