I guess Kevin should just take down the pipe talk room or have a sticky saying no pipe pics allowed. When I got here a year or so ago, I was told that if you don't have a pic, it didn't happen. I for one love looking at all kinds of pipes, don't matter what they cost. Whether it is one of Fish's cool looking Morta's, or Peck's Cooke's or Kshmir's awesome Blue Ribands, or a new guys 50.00 Tsuge he got and is so excited about, or any number of Old Cajuns incredible collection. We are here to talk about pipes, share our passion for pipes so if we don't show each other what are we doing here. I really get a kick watching when a person gets something they are so excited about they are ready to bust, how can you not want to see pics of the guys pipe and tell him congrats and that you share in his excitement.
I love how a guy who has been absent for 4 plus months decides that 6 people run this site. I would like to know who the 6 are and how is it possible for anyone to run this site other than Kevin and his mods. I see tons of guys who make friends and are having fun. I see some of the most generous people I have ever encountered sharing stuff with new and old guys alike while trying to help their fellow pipe smokers out. For a person to view this place like Ace has, I submit there is something really going wrong in his life and he came here to vent and take it out on the alleged 6. I feel sorry anyone who allows himself to feel anger and jealousy because some guys are posting pictures of pipes on the internet.
Life it too short to have emotions like Ace has so it is probably a good idea that he no longer participates, why torment yourself when this place is designed for a good time.

I am just curious who the "special six" are. I'd pass gas to find out if I was one but i've never been able to do that on command.
I pretty much agree with you all, but I also know Ace and he's a solid guy. I kind of (KIND of) agree with his assessment of the emergence of a mutual admiration society. There's nothing wrong with that, but some guys just come here to talk about pipes, not to make friends (or as much as you can on the internet).
Wow what a prick thing to say; sorry if this offends anyone but you do not know me half from Adam. Yeah maybe this is not specifically directed to me but I enjoy showing my pipes and looking at others. I do not take kindly to those who just make random statements about people they do not know. Seems pretty easy to me to just not look at those specific posts. Seriously the forum even has a link that says:

I'm with Ace. All those pipe pictures are disgraceful.
Further, I recently snuck in to the pipes magazine weekly meeting, and I captured this shot with my cell. Yes, that is Roth and Harris dressed in purple. I couldn't make out who the guy in red was but he was smoking a Blue Riband with, oddly enough, a very colourful lucite stem. I barely escaped alive.
Perhaps The Sinister Six would be more apt.

Ace57, I think you have Forums members confused. I don't think you're objecting to the big photo selections, but I could
be wrong. While sometimes show-off, these seem to interest most people and not incite too much envy or vain glory by
those who post. I think you maybe be referring to some threads that get to be amen corners, but I think that's supposed to
be supportive of this or that opinion. As for the coterie of six, I'm not sure who that would be. In any case, I don't think
anyone would put me in that category. I'm perennially out of step, and that's okay with me. There are a few members who
are notably knowledgable, but they seem pretty generous, if sometimes a bit crotchety, as are we all. But if there are six people

Peckinpah... I had a feeling "Brothers Of The Briar" was the name of some kind of cult. My mother is going to be very displeased with me for joining this so called "brotherhood."

"Fart Pipe" is a term used to describe an excessively large exhaust on a car, causing it to have a "farty" sound. Fart Pipes are most commonly found on cheap, front-wheel drive imports (see honda civic or mitsubishi eclipse) that 16 year old kids who watch The "fast and furious" series like its some kind of religion. The fart pipe can be identified by one of many tests. 1) If the cross section of the muffler or muffler tip is GREATER than the contact patch on the car's tires, the exhaust is a fart pipe. 2) If the muffler is larger than the displacement of the motor, it is a fart pipe. 3) if the ricer takes off in his riced out car and the exhaust is louder than his stereo, it is declared a fart pipe. 4) and last but not least, if any piece of the exhaust system was purchased at Pep Boys, Autozone, or any other ricer oriented store, it is most likely a fart pipe. And now you know.

I know what you mean BigVan, but how much can a person really say about a pipe without getting into sharing pics of their pipe? Does Ace just want to talk about them and not show them? Or is he more offended by people congratulating a fellow member on his or her acquisition? Either way, like roth mentioned, sounds a lot like sour grapes.
Personally, being quite new to the fold, I learn from these types of posts. When another piper posts a picture and description of a recent acquisition, I am learning about prices, brands, sizes, shapes, logos, markings and finishes. The idea of these forums is to accommodate a wide range of people. We need to be able to appreciate that we aren't the only ones reading the posts and gloss over the things that either don't interest us or bug us a bit. I love being a member but there are also times when I make the decision to do something else because the topics or responses aren't for me.
