here in CA, real problems are brewing ... the weather is far too un-winter like ... there was more snow around the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia tonight than there was at 6,000 feet altitude in the mountains around Lake Tahoe.
With no snow pack, water shortages will rage this year and there will be massive crop problems in a part of the country that produces a VERY high percentage of the US food supply ...
Here in the SF Bay Area, overnight lows are in the 30s, but daytime highs are setting January records in the 70s and the vegetation on the hillsides is tinder dry ... fires are all but inevitable which means that once the rains DO start, it's not going to take all that much to produce mudslides and the needed water will run off rather than be absorbed into the ground ...
