Funny that you say “Frog Morton status.” Frog Morton blends were some of the last SP sold out of after McClelland shuttered. It was around for weeks if not months after nearly everything else was gone. People do so elevate the value of what they can’t have, from tobacco to (mistakenly) Twinkies.

That's very surprising, I wonder if they produced a lot more of it than anything else. It certainly comes up on consignment fare more often than any over McC blend other than maybe Christmas Cheer.

This one blew my mind. TP and CoJ were giving the 2023 tins away for $5 a pop six months ago.

Not mine. Crinkle flake is the only blend that comes to mind for cult like status for me by sutliff. You should of bought the dip 6 months ago.

I thought so. Back when I was first getting into pipe smoking I did a lot of research on blends before I diversified from OTCs and Frog Morton kept getting mentioned, I was very disappointed to learn those were old lists and videos and it hadn't been available in years. At this point any surviving McClelland blend has at least 6 or 7 years of age, which no doubt perpetuates their reputation for being exceptional to anybody trying for the first time from a consignment tin.

In 5 years, I will be seeking most Sutliff blends, as I don't have the means currently to stock up. lol

I agree, it will be the match blends that will be missed. And many of the Russ Ouellette creations.

There's something about that first experience, when it's really good, that is difficult to repeat. That goes with tasting things as well as accomplishing things.
I've only smoked one tin of Firestorm, but I rank it as one of the best tasting blends I've tried. It may have been just that I was in a very receptive status?
I enjoyed that first tin of Escudo more than any of the others I've smoked.
The codger blend, is a simple, mild, lightly topped burley/va that you smoke repeatedly and find various flavor components depending upon your set and setting. It is a blend that delivers consistently, a comfortable, flavorful, and mild smoke that is dependable and easily obtained. Like Dodo bird feathers.
