A 1975 Chevy Impala four door.. split pea green with a white top. 350/350 electric windows and locks. Sorry no photo.. We called it the land barge, because eight friends and I could all fit in it and road trip.. Was pulled up out of a field after sitting for three years when my mom got her new car. Even took the barge mudding several times, got stuck more than once. Had a 28 gallon gas tank, and back then was cheap to fill up... but wouldnt last me the week...

msandoval- those things were solid steel. I made confetti out of more than one car in that thing and all I had to do was spray more primer over the paint marks. Ultimately the transmission went out and it cost more to fix than it was worth, so I parted it out. Only paid $500 for the thing, which was the best I could do at 16 and working at Jack in the Crack.

The coolest car I ever owned was a 1970 Mercury Cyclone GT like this one.

My first car that I had was one my dad loaned me. He was a mechanic so no point in going and buying something. It was an '81 VW Rabbit. It was a great car and got me hooked on hatchbacks.
The first one I actually owned was a 1989 Nissan Sentra hatchback. 40+ miles to the gallon and fun in the corners because it was lowered by a previous owner who knew what he was doing.
Now I have a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT. Those Australians really know how to build muscle cars.

This is just a photo I found on the internet, but my first car looked like this.

A '71 VW Super Beetle. Mine was a lighter shade of blue.

1968 Camaro. I wish I still had it. One in pic isn't mine but close to it. You don't get as cool of cars starting out these days without big dollars.

A 1967 Firebird Sprint (4 barrel carb, dual exhaust) was my first car in 1979. I had this car until 1997. I was a hard-core street racer, racing for $ from Philly to Detroit and had a variety of appropriate vehicles as well as daily drivers. I suppose my 86 GN (which I bought new) was my all-round favorite daily driver. Slightly modified she would run 11:80's @ 118 mph back in the early 90's. Street raced that a lot too. It is now a full-on race car in Ohio.

My grandpa gave me this car when he stopped driving in 74. It is a 1959 Rambler. I was just starting my senior year of high school. Push button transmission. Loved this car!

1970 AMC Hornet that I inherited from my uncle. I wish I had it now, just because. The first car that I bought with my own money was a 1956 Dodge Coronet with a flat head six and pushbutton transmission. It cost me $22 (an odd amount, but there's a short story attached to that figure that I'm sure no one would be interested to hear, so I'll spare you the details). Then there was my 1950 Buick Special with Dynaflow (who remembers Dynaflow?). That Buick could beat any stalled car off the line...honest!
@adam12: I had a brand new '76 Maverick that Motorola gave me for a company car. I absolutely loved that car.

My first car was a safty cone orange 71' Seuper Beatle. it had no floors and we used teak boards to rebuild them. The best part was I could mount the seats further back so my knees were not a part of the dash. My inseam is 38 so most of my 6'5" hight is in my legs.

1967 MGB. All I could fit in the boot (trunk) was a gallon bottle of anifreeze and 6 quoarts of oil.

I missed being towed every week so I bought this '76 MGB 2 years ago.

Ah, the joys of sunny days waoting by the road side for AAA.

My favorite car was a sleeper. 1971 Celica Supra. Looked like the Celica but had the Supra in line 6. Wound up throwing a piston through the hood doing 187mph in my last street race with it. This is what it looked like.

Supra2U42.jpg

Mine was primer black with no identifying markings that it was a supra. The only way you could tell was when you saw my tail lights as I pulled away from the Porsche 911.

First car: 1960 Chevy Impala- wish I still had it. Dem's were the days...
Bought it for $150 in 1966; new set of tire: $40

Drove it for three years; sold it for $150. (And yes, it smelled of pipe tobacco smoke by then.)
Replaced with a 1965 MGB -wish I still had THAT one too.
