I tried a Peterson when I first started pipe smoking and ended up returning it as I wasn't impressed. I'd give a Pete another shot at this point. My go-to briars are unfiltered Savinellis with the 3mm drilling.
Why? It doesn't seem like a prohibitive price to me...I'd like to find a Stanwell Hans Christian Anderson with both stems. Yeah, I know I dream big.

I couldn’t agree more.. I own three of them, all good smokers.I was fortunate to find a Vauen at an Estate sale about a year ago and I have to say they are very under rated. Fantastic pipe and great smoker.
