Patty Griffin wrote this incredibly beautiful song in remembrance of her Grandmother, Mary.
Mary

She moves behind me

She leaves her fingerprints everywhere

Every time the snow drifts

Every way the sand shifts

Even when the night lifts she's always there
Oh Mary

You're covered in roses

You're covered in ruins

You're covered in secrets

You're covered in treetops, covered in birds

Who can sing a million songs, without any words

I'm listening to the xx, whose debut album was released eight years ago today, August 14. Here's the opening track, "Intro"

I just picked up the 1970 Dev/iation Pink Floyd CD, great stuff!
My wife made me to to "Graceland Presents" the other night (Memphis Orchestra with Elvis singing on multiple screens. So,I had to re-ground myself. Ah, much better.

Closing out the night with one of the greatest jazz albums, ever, John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman. Here's my favorite version of this Billy Strayhorn masterpiece, "Lush Life"
