Jason Isbell's new album, he just released the video for this great song, "If We Were Vampires". My mother-in-law passed away last year, this week, her husband struggles on, so the lyrics hit a bit close to home this morning.

Jason Isbell is an absolute MASTER lyricist. It's no wonder why he's had such great success lately once his "Something More Than Free" album caught a little publicity. I've always enjoyed his music, even before the recent popularity and I'm so glad to see him gaining momentum. The guy has lived a hard life so far and it's awesome to see his hard work finally pay off.

Listening to Tesseract - April.......written by a band member who was previously a police officer. The song is about a particularly gruesome case he experienced involving an obsessive stalker/murderer.....It's amazing to me how some artists can channel the most horrible and gruesome experiences a human being could imagine into a song in order to express their feelings and cope with the trauma.
