I'm thinking of drilling out the other side of my Zippo butane pipe insert, I keep burning my damn finger! Seems short sighted of Zippo not to design it like the regular pipe insert.

Same, my thumb is in a constant state of swollenness.

I've pretty much tried them all and in my opinion, for what it's worth, fancy, expensive lighters are a sucker deal. Spend your money on a good pipe and do what I do. Buy cheap disposable lighters at the dollar stores.

1980s I believe vintage Corona. Had it for years. Best companion to the pipe family I have.

I used to use this kind when I first started with pipes way back when but I learned that's not the best choice.

+1 On the Zippo. I ended up purchasing the butane soft flame pipe insert, but whenever I'm working I still use the oil insert.

An Amazon.ca cheapy Yusud. Kind of retro, quirky, butane filled. Adjustable flame. Tried a torch style at first, but with almost no sight in my right eye, charred a few too many bowls because of depth perception. Not as hot as the torch, so I char bowls much more slowly lol. Use this indoors, cheap enough to have a spare.

Use matches if I run out of butane.
