That's a good question. I am not certain, but I believe that they do.I have several ounces and enjoy it. Wonder if They make it themselve.

I love FVF as well but did not know it could be bought in bulk. At least I have not seen it sold that way.I'm a Gawith fanboy so it's SG FVF and GH Curly Cut Deluxe.
Maybe there’s a store that sells them in bulk but I haven't seen that online. The largest package I’ve seen them is 8oz.I love FVF as well but did not know it could be bought in bulk. At least I have not seen it sold that way.
FVF only comes in 8oz box or in tins as far as I know. I consider the box as "bulk" since it's not in a 1.75/2 oz tins and it's slightly cheaper than buying 4-5 tins of equivalent.Maybe there’s a store that sells them in bulk but I haven't seen that online. GH Curly Cut Deluxe can be bought in 1lb bag.
Opening Night with 5+ years on it is my favorite straight VA. It’s a masterpiece of a blend.Recently have tried and enjoyed Yorktown. But I hear much high praise for Opening Night that I’ll need to order some.
@anotherbob - Ever tried Opening Night?
I wonder what it really is.Some really good VA's mentioned here, but I will tell you about a wonderful little "gem" that you can get in bulk and that is "Faulkner Flake" from the Country Squire. If you have not tried it, you really should.
I also wonder what Faulkner Flake is. Are there other flakes that Sutliff makes for shops that look like that? I haven't seen any which is why I'm asking.I wonder what it really is.
If you are looking for a straight Virginia, not a processed and flavored blend, buy the bulk blenders. I’ve always enjoyed the several available from Sutliff, and cellared them deep when the balloon went up. It’s like a salad bar! A nice heap of Virginia, a goodly amount of Turkish or one of the so-called Orientals. Maybe some Perique or Latakia…it’s all up to you.
Why get frozen dinners when there’s a really nice smorgasbord?
Their website says that it is simply matured bright Virginias that are cut into long slices. Is there a reason that you might think this is not the whole story??I wonder what it really is.

Not sweet enough and has some rough edges and bite. At one pound consumption per year, you're looking at less than $100 premium to smoke tinned tobacco. No brainer.Too sweet or not enough VA taste?
This is a good point that I've honestly not thought about. I've been thinking from the perspective of building a cellar but I might be smoking a pound a year.
I said it before here, but the flakes I had to cut in half to fit in a jar just like Sutliff Virginia Slices, they smell and look like them. I bought a pound when I saw they were available again, worried it would be my last chance. If they are Virginia Slices I'll be happy. I'll figure it out eventually. Maybe somebody has already smoked both? I want to say though I'm not saying for sure they're the same, but they're at least similar in some ways.I wonder what it really is.

I tried a tin thinking "This is right up my alley, gonna love this stuff." I found the flavor really good, but it was kind of harsh, especially in the nose. Does Opening Night lose that harshness with age? If so, I was thinking I'd buy more to let hang out for a number of years.Opening Night with 5+ years on it is my favorite straight VA. Yes.Does Opening Night lose that harshness with age?
I hear you. I have some bulks that I do like and have a good amount of, but none of them are ones I want to smoke everyday like HH Pure Virginia or Union Square. Those were my two readily available(not any more with the Mac Baren) favorite straight Virginias. Something about those two...Yes.
Also, I’m not sure why opening night was mentioned in the first place since it’s not available in bulk. There are no bulk straight VAs that I’ve found worthy of loading the boat with yet. All straight VAs I really like are only available in tinned versions. I really love Three Sails but I prefer it rolled into a cigarette. My next tobacco order will have lots of gawtih bulk samples so maybe I’ll find a bulk straight VA I really like with their tobaccos.
I'm pretty sure there is a topping on 400. Honey, or something sweet.Newminster 400 might be the last straight VA that comes to mind when thinking of a flake “with no top note”. 507c is pretty loud too. I don’t think anybodies mentioned Kendal Gold, if you sip it just right it’s great stuff.
I think Per’s comments on @swan’s interview said it was still going to be available…..in Germany. From what I understand, the HH Pure Virginia is going to be around.
That's surprising to hear as I love the sweetness but assumed many Virginia smokes would think it was too sweet. Guess I really do need to get some Sir John's.Not sweet enough
