Perhaps we didn't buy enough to make it worth while to stock or manufacture. Demand is a great leveler for retailers when determining what will take up expensive space in storage and display. The obverse is that supply can't keep up with demand.
I'd, if I was you and I'm not, email the manufacturer with the question as well as asking this membership. You might become the first to know and therefore able to educate us.
Sorry! That was a bit curt. But, please do ask the source and let us know what you learn.

R-blend is a daily smoke for me. I saw P&C was out last time I checked. I also liked golden age, a shag Vaper similar to three sails.

Warren and others..... good advise, BUT I emailed Sutliff earlier and on the 23rd, I got the reply, like they had never heard of it But it might be RL English long cut and where was I trying to buy it?

I answered that I had bought it before from Pipes and Cigars and they have it listed still but marked as "out of Stock"....... LISTED AS "SUTLIFF'S ENGLISH ORIENTAL" and still do .

End of correspondence
In essence I wasted my time with Sutliff!

Any thoughts , suggestions, advise other than forget it.

I'm kinda hardheaded (just ask ones that know me)and don't quit easily

Sutlif needs to downsize if they don't know what they have. I hear that Leno does that when he gets lost in his garage.

hooboy: The response to your inquiry created more questions than answers. Hardly a waste of time and well done! Their answer should have enlightened you as to Sutliff's management, or perhaps lack of it. If they can't provide an answer the rest of us are simply blowing smoke with our responses to your question. We're just guessing.

I just checked their web site and English Oriental is not listed. I'm not surprised that they are cutting blends. I understand that the pipe tobacco end of their business has not been profitable for many years. P&C has moved their production to Lane Ltd. and to further compound things their president comes from the cigarette business; and that bodes well for pipe tobacco.

Look what happened when RJR took over Lane many years ago. Many fine blends disappeared and they are only now starting to bring back some of their classic blends like Crown Achievement, Medal of Valor and Lane Ready Rubbed-albeit with new or slightly changed names.

Maybe if they'd start making a few more real blends instead of focusing on beginner aromatics. I could rant about some of the stupid things Sutliff has done over the years, but... anyways :::cough, cough::: it wouldn't be pretty. :puffy:
Funny, so now they are deleting blends and pretending that they never existed? And, why would they get rid of one of their blends that actually kind of tastes like tobacco? :puffy:

The usual answer of course, money. If the blend is perceived as a drag on profits and nobody can conjure up a method of turning it around, pffft! Off it goes, consigned to the trash heap of unprofitable blends.

This, this right here! Never been a fan of there's anyways, so its a whatever for me... but I do find it funny that a company wouldn't even know there own product, that speaks volumes to their state of affairs.

Or it speaks to a high turnover of employees. Noobs with no real institutional knowledge of the company. Either way, they seem to have problems.
Thats probably the most logical answer... but its not as fun as Cosmic's conspiracy theory that they are doing this on purpose.
