ASE master certified auto technician, worked the last 12 years at Chrysler dealerships. Was fired from my last Chrysler job 4 weeks ago. Been working at a small indepedent import shop for the last 3 weeks. Also my part time gig is Unit Commissioner for the Lone Bear District, Heart of America Council, Boy Scouts of America. Doesn't pay a dime, but is very satisfying. Also the 4 Grandsons also keep me busy.

Writing a book (or for me finishing a book) is Damn Hard. I've published 2 and am currently working on about 10 different novels and short stories. I also write lyrics and do layout work for the bands I publish.

I am currently a student studying literature, teacher, and I work part time at Whole Foods. I am in the process of deciding whether I want to go to grad school for Lit./Rhetoric and Composition or law school. When I decide I'll tell you for sure what I do.

Wow, interesting thread! I spent 25 years in the restaurant industry myself, like many here, mostly as a general manager for Hard Rock Cafe. I'm currently a travel photographer and am back in grad school for a master's in Public History. However, in the future I will be a hops and tobacco farmer on our farm in Marshall, NC.

I'm disabled... but prior to 1999 I was a self-employed cabinet maker. Other skills -- a Army vet with 14 years, a CWP instructor, and a Holistic Health Practitoner ( still involved with that).

I am in the middle of changing companies but the same career. I am a data acquisition specialist working in the oil and gas industry. Currently I am working here in Canada. By next month I will be working with a larger company and I will be on a new project in Brazil.

That's cool. I wish we could find a more complimentarian practice in my area. My wife and I are really sick of the sick care industry...

Disabled and now technically a home maker :) I was a truck driver and awarded my 1,000,000 mile safety award three months before I had my first seizure. It all worked out OK because my teenage children missed me, my 10yr old step-son needs a stable father figure, and it proved my woman loves me beyond my greatest expectations.

I work for the Marine Corps Systems Command doing Acquisition and Life Cycle Logistics of Combat Support Equipment (ISO Shelters, Tents, heaters, and all CBRN gear). Did a few years fitting sailors in their CBRN PPE on their ships. Tons of fun but lots of traveling. Was U.S Army Chemical Ops NCO for 10 years prior to that.
