Lol. This reminded me of a time I befriended a guy and his "companions" in a Hong Kong (Kowloon actually) hotel basement bar. Turns out he owned the hotel and a string of high end brothels around Asia. Thought he was bs'n me until he asked what I was drinking, to which I replied scotch. Without even a glance at the bar he snapped his fingers and within 10 seconds a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue appeared on my table, gratis. A night to remember...
Sounds like a movie.
It was something else. The bottle combined with the jet lag, I had just flew in from Chicago, made for a long following day. I'll never forget it.
Pretty awesome though. hahaha!

I am a classically trained musician and music teacher (just finished a DMA and currently looking for a University position). I’m a conductor, keyboardist, and professional choral singer, and I've played gigs on organ, harpsichord, and piano.
Which right now means I'm a church organist. Covid has been particularly terrible for performing artists. I'm glad to have the income, as many of my full-time performing friends have been completely out of work for the past year.

I cooked professionally for 25 years in Vermont, and NY, the last 15 years, until 2010, in the Hamptons. Had to stop working because of medical reasons. I live alone, and in my apartment I smoke morning, noon, and night.

I’m a professional oxygen absorber.
Early jobs included student grader, contract p.r. writing, script writer on training films. Enlisted Navy radioman on a minesweeper and journalist on Midway Island. Several years as a Veterans Administration benefits counselor. Most of my career was with the National Institutes of Health as a Public Affairs Specialist which means writing, editing, presentations, some photography, audio-visual productions, with an interim assignment as an administrative assistant with a national toxicology program; then for a time I was News Director; and finally I was a program analyst, which means I translated our science for Congressional reports. Parallel to all that, I had and have a literary career, published in lit mags, one book of short stories, and a children's book done for my day job and widely distributed nationally and overseas. Mostly didn't smoke in the work place, nor at all aboard ship, though the smoking lamp was lit every morning.
