1st of a fiver that came in the mail. You know how it is...you gotta smoke one while putting the rest in the humidor. I don't want to think what 5 days in the hands of USPS has done to them.

Starting the morning with a pipe and absolutely scorched my tongue. Tried a different blend and a no- go. So I took a break and decided to enjoy two cigars to compare how they are aging. First was an old band Partagas Short (2010) and second was a new band Partagas Short (late 2011). Both were very enjoyable, but the 2010 was just slightly better. I will probably be taking a break from my pipes for a few days.

Ave Maria Toro - nice mellow stick, no complaints, nothing outstanding. This one has about a year on it, and is creamy and full of cedar. Pinky out, because I'm fancy.

Smoking a Tabacalera Burley Boy Sun Cured Petit Robusto. This is totalmente al mano, actually made this by myself this morning with home grown Burley leaf. I had expected that this would be an unsmokable experiment, but it is actually quite mild. Not much aroma, a bit harsh, some unexpected sweet notes and definitely smokable.

Last night I smoked an Arturo Fuente Flor Fina 8-5-8 Maduro. This morning I tried a Montecristo Memory. Yeah, tried. Draw was too tight. Chucked it after the 1st third. 'Bout had an aneurysm sucking on it.
Like Crawdad, tried smoking a shamefully plugged Warped La Relato, but pitched it like Juan Marichal after an inch or so. Moved onto a Hoyo Epicure No. 2.

Just had one of the best cigars I have ever smoked. Ordered a box of Nat Sherman Timeless Sterling, Dalia (londsdale). Connecticut shade but lots of taste, perfect burn and super smooth. I hope someone picks up this blend now that nat sherman is going away.

I am in love with the perfect draw. The thing just works.
Yup. Way more effective than my other cigar tool, the Modus, which is shaped kind of like a harpoon.
