What Did You do Today?

Let football season begin! My pop-warner team has its first game today. I love teaching kids football, hard work, dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
My oldest son plays HS football and played 2 quarters last night in a blow out over Timmy Tebow’s alma-matter. He’s a freshman linebacker. I have very little free time this time of year. Today is a good day.

Braved a birthday party for my nephews (9 and 18) at the bowling ally. Needless to say I spent a lot of time standing out in the rain to smoke my pipe. I think the 9 year olds were way more mature than the 18 year olds! As a retired Light Infantryman I am known for my cursing, but these kids were saying things that even I found offensive, and would have never said in front of woman and children! 8O

Today I rummaged through my Super Hot garden... The Chocolate Habaneros, the Yellow Buhts, 7 Pots, and Douglahs are about to begin ripening in ernest. Should produce well over 200 peppers. The 7 Pod Brain Strain is behind the curve and beginning to bloom... I hope it beats the frost. Maters are going well too.
Then I confirmed that I'm definitely not contractor material. Fixed a small damaged area in the ceiling in the down stairs bathroom. I'll finish the second application tomorrow then sand, then pop-corn and paint... Ain't my thang.
Made martinis and watched football.
Oh yeah... smoked my pipe.

Today I moved my brothers belongings to yet another residence (2nd time in as many months) last time its happening.!

That moving sucks. I've been here now over 30 years and hopefully can croak here. Getting too old for moving. Me and my dog have just been lazy today except I took him over to Arby's for a roast been classic earlier. Just hanging out with my bud this afternoon.

I successfully slept for the first time in about a week. Getting ready to make a stop by my nephews birthday party then its off to work for me.

Coffee, morning pipe and the crossword puzzle, then pulled close to 5 tons of honey, and going to hit the lawn here in the next hour. I think I put the "labor" in Labor Day. Happy Labor Day to all.

(1) Worked on my chem Ed research project by keying in some student generated data from the Toledo exam. (2) Updated my powering lecture notes on nomenclature and Lewis sreuctures; (3) Lectured to my first semester general chemistry class on electronic structure.

Got up, had my Cafe Du Monde coffee with a nice pipe. Went and picked up my latest Rad Davis. Came home smoked a pipe and hung out here. Then had to go to the bank and open up and account for my daughter Gabrielle who is now in college. Made dinner for the kids, cleaned up and am finally sitting down to enjoy my evening bowl. Of course had laundry going all day and was doing my usual with the dogs. There are days when I really feel like Mr Mom.

Ate some ribs left over from yesterday's feast.

Drank coffee, cuz it's been raining, and raining, and raining, and raining some more... of course it's still raining.

Third in-between rain showers; I picked some super hots.

Worked from home, which meant too many distractions (eBay!), but still managed a very productive day. Back on the road tomorrow.

Worked 10 hours, then mowed my sons yard and trimmed his Willow tree. Ate Chinese for Supper...yummy

Worked on the roof today power washed it and prepping it with my dad. Watched some travel channel ( Anothony bourdain) and been on here. Haven't had time to smoke a pipe. Now I'm just Layin in bed.
