Sorry, but what do you mean by areola?
The conical head?
Because of my language I did a Google search for "cigar areola" and this is the result:

I'm guessing he is talking about the bulbous end of the Perfecto - if the end that gets lit is the nipple, as I've heard it called before, the portion where it tapers to the larger ring gauge of the shank of the cigar would I guess be the areola, if we're using anatomical terms to describe the cigar.

Seeing areola on a tobacco forum caught my attention as well. I'm wondering, if the areola is all the way at the end of the cigar, where am I putting my mouth when I smoke the thing!?

I paused when I read that as well. I've been smoking cigars over thirty years and that was new to me, too.
