Stoker, that is some great art and history you have there! I was an archer in my youth up until about 30. Guy's in our club helped us make bowstring jigs and fletching burners. Fun times. I had a Diablo hunting bow and a Bear HC-300. Should have stuck with the Bear for target shooting. Got to shooting competition with the #45lb short limbed Diablo and developed tendonitis really bad. Hunt with a crossbow these days but it does have standard limbs. Not a compound crossbow. I envy you ,Stoker. Really miss the sport. Have fun.
Reading, hunting, fishing ( Crappie & Cats) make my own lures, commercial art, reenactments: pre-1840 Fur trade and Civil War.

Like to travel but spend most of my time the last 4 years care taking my folks. Mom Passed, Christmas of 2012, but my dad ( Navy corpsman served with the Marines on S. Pacific campaigns WWII) is still with me. He walked all over Israel just prior to 2 knee replacements. Kept us with us everywhere except the En Gedi. He is my hero. 8)

Frankly, Okie, your Dad was everybody's hero. They were truly the greatest generation, and these men literally saved the world.

Thanks, ravkesef. They sure did. I believe a number of young Americans have stood in that line along the way since then also.

A few shots from some of my shows around Lake Tahoe.

Stocked up on my green coffee beans for home roasting.

Just purchased a new metal lathe so I might have a new hobby starting soon...
Sometimes I call working a hobby too :P

http://imedia.unr.edu/residence_hall/ The link has a real neat time lapse video that shows progress (as of now) up to late last Dec.

Man you guys have some pretty exciting hobbies. I enjoy busting my knuckles on old rides when I'm not redoing estate pipes. Here is the MG my father and I have been working on. Now that we have it almost finished, we are debating on putting a 289 V8 in it.

If you enjoy how that thing goes around corners, I can guarantee the shoehorning a 500+lbs V8 in there is going to destroy the fine handling characteristics of that English sportscar.
In Europe the philosophy is performance through low weight and chassis balance. A bigass block will screw both of those up. If the original engine wasn't known for not being the most reliable, I would suggest fitting a turbo...

Seriously fascinating hobbies! I'm shocked!! My other passion is quite pedestrian by comparison. I owned a successful coffeehouse/bar/internet cafe/music venue for five years here in Birmingham till my spine collapsed. My other passion is Astronomy/Astrophotography.

I play a bit of guitar, been the "head liner" at a local nursing home for about nine years now. :D
Play a bit of golf, when I am not fishing. On a real good weekend I get to do both.

Got a couple of small Jon boats and a canoe.
Ride a lot of motorcycle, most of my riding is work commute. But I do find time for some

recreational riding with my wife.
I like to hunt mushrooms in the spring and squirrel in the fall.

I am also an air gun enthusiast.

I play guitar and bass. I also do repairs to said instruments. I'm also a civil war reenactor. That was what got me in to pipe smoking actually.

I was heavily into watches but messed up that hobby by making it a profession. Right now I am still collecting pocket knives, I like reading, photography and motorcycling.

My wife and I are quite passionate about our sighthounds - spanish Galgos - and are active in recueing them. Besides out two Galgos we have a foster dog most of the time.

This is my Diesel motorcycle that will have to go this spring as I bought a Harley Shovelhead bobber.

I am into art, bicycles, booze, books, cooking, knives, tea and Sofubi. The rest of them you probably know but Sofubi is a type of old school Japanese toy. They take the highest quality liquid vinyl and hand pour it into metal molds. After sloshing it around they dunk them into cooling liquid and them pull the toys from the mold with a pair of pliers. After hand trimming the flashing they assemble them and then they are hand painted with airbrush and occasionally small brushes. The classic Godzilla toys and many others were manufactured this way but the march of time has all but decimated it. A small group of collectors and artists the world over keep it alive. I used to climb mountains, rock, ice and mixed rock and ice but family life has taken me off the rope.

@ Booker, I have been using the same Hottop for about 11 years now. Even the guy from Hottop USA is a bit shocked at the age considering the hundreds of pounds I have put through it. Eventually I'll get a larger roaster is/when either Hottop or Gene Cafe bring the new models to the US market.
I have heard the Behmor roaster is really good on eating its own smoke and is pretty user friendly for roasting in doors. It can roast the same amount as the Hottop and is only 1/4 the price.

My hobbies are less than they were. I currently enjoy fountain pens, computers, shooting, and watches. I am wanting to get into model railroads. I really miss mountain biking, rock climbing, camping, and riding a motorcycle. I am hoping I can get my spine fixed so I can mountain bike again.

I have the Behmor 1600 and like it a lot.

The smoke output is still pretty heavy, especially if you are going into 2nd crack at all.

It claims to roast up to a pound, but you have to have the full voltage to get there.

I hooked mine into a Variac to control the voltage and can roast 3/4 of a pound to a nice dark roast now.

BTW, I get my beans from Sweet Maria's too ... good folks!

Tarheel, i'm afraid you have exceeded your limit on hobbies. You'll need to pick five and end it there. You're always free to drop one and pick up another, assuming that hobby has a vacancy. For further details refer to The MANual, "Hobbies & Pastimes" section C.
