Just finished it. The book was very good, the series also pretty good. I'd agree with your score and enjoyed it.WOW!!! If you guys have Netflix you need to check out “All The Light We Can Not See”. It's 4 episodes at an hour each. Very good! 5/5

Most definitely. I've watched quite a few foreign films over the years, and I don't mind subtitles at all. In addition to the mouth movement issue with dubs, there is also a lot that is lost by not hearing the true voices. Even if you don't understand the language, there is much that is communicated by the actor's tone, inflection, emotion, etc. I find when I'm listening and reading the subtitles that I often forget that I'm not hearing it in English...I find myself experiencing it essentially the same as any English speaking film. But the dubs just butcher it.I always use subs rather than dubs, the disparity between mouth movements and language is more distracting to me than subs.
Streaming or other source? Rating- though I think a 5/5 from your comment.Just watched The Burial. Fan Freaking Tastic!!! Tommy Lee Jones and Jamie Foxx delivered.
5 out of 5. Prime.Streaming or other source? Rating- though I think a 5/5 from your comment.
Gosh I used to love that show. Have to see if it ages well for me.For those of you with an intensely "low-brow" sense of humor, I proudly count myself in those ranks, Amazon Prime now has "The Red Green Show". In one twenty minute plus show the score can easily run from 1 all the way to 5.
It is time wasted, well wasted!
Thanks for the heads up. I just found out that Hulu is streaming all 8 seasons. Life and world events distracted me from finishing the series, but I remember laughing my ass off watching it. I plan on binging it, starting tomorrow, and subscribe to Peacock later to see the feature length episode (movie). I remember loving the show, and can't believe that I drifted away from it.Are there any fans of Mr Monk out there? For those of you who are, and those of you who are and have the Peacock streaming service, you will be pleased to hear that there is a new Mr. Monk feature length episode entitled Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie. It stars most of the original cast, we have Natalie, but not Sharona, and it's a classic Monk murder mystery. As a member of the Academy of television Arts and Sciences I received an invitation to a screening on the Academy's site, thoroughly enjoyed watching it and can wholeheartedly recommend it to Monk enthusiasts!
It will be streaming December 8th on Peacock
For insight into what happens after a nuclear bomb is dropped, everyone should read John Hersey's Hiroshima.Oppenheimer/Special Features (DVD). Just finished watching 2 segments; there's some historical footage, lots of pipe sightings, and some grotesque footage of the aftermath of dropping the bomb (5/5).View attachment 264751View attachment 264752View attachment 264753View attachment 264754View attachment 264756View attachment 264757View attachment 264758View attachment 264759View attachment 264760View attachment 264761View attachment 264762View attachment 264763View attachment 264764View attachment 264765View attachment 264767
