"Das Boot", Wolfgang Petersen, 1985. From my private DVD collection.

Another film I simply cannot put a rating on.

Six Feet Under— Netflix, first Ep, (which I saw 22 years ago, but had forgotten.)

I was deeply impressed at how well each character was drawn with scant screen time in the beginning. I guess one wouldn't be able to make that observation unless one had seen a lot of episodes!

Sunny Cornwall, UK.
Last night I watched (for the 2nd time) The Grey with Liam Neeson leading.

A very typical Hollywood 'survival' film with all the predictability that that implies, this was not one of Neeson's finest performances in my view.

Also those huge fake wolves that growl like lions on the Serengeti were just way over the top.

I can just about manage to squeeze out 2.5/5 points for this icy caper.

Jay.

@hoosierpipeguy - he's back! Will be interesting to see if this run is as good as the first one, which was mostly pretty good, IMO.

I just saw that, watching Bosch on Prime. Looking forward to it. If you haven't watched the Bosch series, you should. Have you watched Billions on Paramount? One of the best ever.

Love Conelley's writing. If you've seen no Bosch at all, start at the beginning! Many hours of intrigue...5/5.

Ironically, I gave up on Billions some time ago. Maybe because I detest Giamatti, or maybe because there were too many inaccuracies in big biz and big banking concepts.

Haha, he was a good John Adams! His new movie out this week looks like it might be a decent, almost throwback kind of comedy. Otherwise, he's small doses for me in general, but can be fun.

Based on some things I read and heard, I decided I wanted to see Babylon Berlin, so I ordered the DVD's a while back. We've been watching it a little at a time, and are on the last season now.

This was an extremely well done series...highly recommend for anyone that hasn't seen it, but I also would urge to watch the German language version with English subtitles. I saw some clips of the dubbed version and it was awful IMO compared to hearing the real voices.

I always use subs rather than dubs, the disparity between mouth movements and language is more distracting to me than subs.
