Had a stressful day today. Went for a ride on a spirited horse not knowing that they had scheduled our road for a cross country bicycling marathon. Over three hundred riders coming through. My horse had never seen a cyclists and the little flashing lights and the hum of the bikes coasting by just FREAKED HIM OUT. I knew if I got off and led him out, that would teach him a bad lesson so I stayed on while they kept coming. He locked up and wouldn't move. Just quivered.... Finally got him moving and hit the woods as fast as I could but had to come back across to get home. I asked one of the riders to please hold the onslaught long enough for me to cross and get him back in woods and up driveway. He was soaking wet..... and I was too. ha.
Glad it all ended well! I’ve had a gnarly time once or a few on public land here in AZ: mountain bike cyclists and SXS’s.
I thought vegans had the corner on annoying personalities before I met some select cyclists😆

Anyway, I’ve got the Royal Danish 971M fired up with ‘23 Sutliff Match Victorian after a great dinner with my dad and stepmom.
It was cool hearing about my stepmom’s father’s WWII service and citations from N Africa, Italy, through Paris and into the Ardennes. I’d known him when I was in grade school, but had never known…

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and snow peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm close to finishing this bowl of SPC Mississippi River Special Reserve in a 2003 medium bent Ural meer with a lined and etched egg shaped bowl with a silver band and a pearl brown acrylic saddle stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

A fortuitously timed late-game acquisition of a useless Z tile allowed me to escape with a 7 point Scrabble victory vs. wifey. Celebrated with a bowl of Mac Baren Virginia Flake in my straight VA pipe, a Peterson Irish Harp 80s sandblasted bent bulldog, paired with a Capt. Picard (hot Earl Grey tea). A short smoke (the way I like 'em), but long enough to feel grateful that I had the foresight to stock up on this one before STG butchered it. 9/10

Bird report: House finch, California scrub-jay, California towhee, California quail, Steller's jay, American crow, Band-tailed pigeon, Red-tailed hawk, Mountain chickadee, Oak titmouse, Northern flicker, and White-breasted nuthatch.

This is my first pipe since the new roof was installed, which shook out so much dust in the process that my allergies went totally haywire for the better part of a week. @PrivatePiping I feel your pain!

@PApiper63 OGS is a cellar staple, for sure...love it!

Half way through this bowl of Silent beta test in a 1980s White Pipe straight lattice apple meerschaum with an acrylic yellow cream colored saddle stem. Watching the Dodgers-Giants game as I write beta notes. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Tomato the Brave came in, ate, and is in the cardboard looking for a little action. The other two ferals ate outside.

Earlier, I smoked a bowl of Wilke Pickett’s Charge in a post-WW2 straight smooth brown pre-Republic Peterson’s Dublin 3 bulldog with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem.

Currently, I'm not far from finishing this bowl of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a late '80s, early 90s small bend medium brown smooth, unbranded Nording pot with a couple of small rusticated spots, an amber colored acrylic ferrule and tapered stem in the military mount style.

Part way through this bowl of first production Watch City American Cut Plug Mixture in a straight smooth brown undated Gesandt Canadian Made in England with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe was originally owned by Poul Schluter, who was the Prime Minister of Denmark from 1982-1993. Reading baseball box scores.
