Morning Post - Smokes Over The Last Two Days.
Skippable Drivel underneath the last pic as usual. Order kinda skewed but it is what it is.
First smoke of note, night before last, was my
Curved Falcon with the not used enough, but well broken in
briar bowl, loaded up with
SWR. Excellent. Will be smoking this combination often. Bowl biased for aro-codgers, a breed which I can smoke and very much enjoy, given current contrainments.

This morning, I Just finished a
Kwiki Grape outside with the usual Gang of Idiots. (a la Mad Magazine. Remember it? I was a fan, bigtime. That's why my humor is somewhat warped, eh?).

And a MM Minicob stuffed with a parfait of
Smokers' Pride Cherry Cavendish, and Smoker's Pride Whiskey. Not bad at all! Pic shown with my straight Falcon with the Bantam Bowl. Smoked that yesterday at the range. Good smoke indeed, loaded with Bengal Slices.
This morning's smoke was with the
MM Cob, which you can see stuffed in the corner of the photo below.
Took the afternoon off yesterday, and went to the range, a badly needed break from Apple Action. Smoke there was the
Straight Falcon with
Bengal Slices. Not gonna take another shot so a twofur is shown but in the wrong order. . . . Aint' gonna take another shot, either. Needed the range break badly to clear my head.

Finished the day last night with the second break-in smoke of the
Lubinsky Olivewood. Spread the break-ins with the second half of the bowl, using
Captain Black Dark Cavendish. A good system, methinks. Spreads the misery over two days and was actually not intolerable, as is a full bowl all at once. A day of rest in between, and will go to the much looked forward Peterson Tavern Pipe for the same routine.

I pictured the Lubinsky showing the other side of the pipe rather than repeat my original photo. This view shows an interesting figuration. If you use your "lie on your back, look at the clouds, and tell me what you see method", you may see another Muppet Monster . . . . a leering "cute" monster figure, which follows the Miss Piggy analysis. At least, I do.
The pipe has a narrow draft hole, and seems to have a slightly restricted draw. No, there ain't no filter. We'll see how it progresses over time. Nice to hold and smoke, though.
Skippable Drivel: Needed the shooting break badly. Went to the outdoor range, and checked the sight in of my #2 rabbit/grouse gun. Yeah, it's an apparent fruitcake mini-gun, a nimrodic version of one of my pipsqueek McQueen Mini-jobs. But there's method to my madness.
I take a lot of students to the range, and wanted a gun that the girls would get off shooting. It's a hot pink version of the "Chipmunk", a single shot mini-rifle. And it shoots like a hot damn. The girls absolutely love it, and it gets them anxious for another range outing. And they whine to their dads to get them one. Works for them.

I've sighted it in, with the ancient 4X Weaver .22 scope, for 25 yards, which with Federal Classic ammo, shoots 1/4" - 3/8" groups all day. Puts it dead on at 50, and about 2" low at 75, which is as far as I'll ever shoot a .22 at living critters. It's not quite as accurate as my CZ which is a one-holer at 25, but it's close enough for jazz.
Checked the zero, and proceeded to shoot a 10 shot steel swinging target with a descending series of ten circular discs going from 2" down to 1/2". Nailed every one of them consecutively with one shot. Packed up and went home. Perfect survival gun. Wouldn't hesitate on a bambi under such conditions.
As the terminator said, "I'll be back . . . . ", both hear and there. May even be able to catch up on a post or two. Finished picking apples and am looking at the boxes with malice right now.

At least they're done. Pick crabbies tomorrow and that's it save for drying and canning, which will be done as I can. Pun intended.
