Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am passing the first third of this bowl from a freshly opened tin of C&D Carolina Red Flake with Perique 2023 (Small Batch) in a 1986 three quarter bend Bacchus face CAO meer with a tapered dark tortoise shell colored acrylic stem. This goes on sale Sept. 20. Working on a review of it.

I love the Bacchus or Green man pipe. It looks as if it has been enjoyed and carefully treated. Enjoy!

Passing the quarter mark on this bowl of Uhle’s Blend 44 in a 1922-38 Made in Ireland Peterson Dublin 3 straight smooth dark brown bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle p-lip stem. Going to do a little work in the studio, and listen to the rest of the ball game. Lavazza Classico, neat, is my drink.

I can't not have my pipe time and I don't have that bitter smell stuck in m nose, so I decided on Kolhase & Kopp CB Bellamy. Figured an aro might still work and if not and I need to take a break, then might as well deal with being tongue bit by aro at the same time.

So far, it's tasting like it should, so that's good, maybe I don't need a break afterall. Now I just hope I don't get too bad a tongue bite.

Passing the half way mark on this bowl of year 2012 E-soterica Dunbar in a smooth straight, dark brown early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. Just finished cleaning a few pipes.

Esoterica Tilbury, quality Virginia based with a burley condiment, in a Iwan Ries house pipe of yore when they were sourced from Edwards Benton series, handsome Algerian oil-cured briar, a straight smooth tapered billiard that looks great after all these years, with an extra large chamber.

The young guy I bought my new iMac from, who set it up, at a tech shop in an industrial park nearby, saw the pipe photos on my desktop and mentioned he used to smoke cigars but now preferred a pipe. Since we were on the iMac project, I said I smoked pipes but didn't expand that conversation to stay on the PC task.

Today I ran a tin of Lane's Metal of Valor over to him with an explanatory note and the sites for pipes magazine and smoking pipes dot com, one for the Forum, and the other as one of the best online retailers. He had gone home -- maybe it's a part time student job for him -- but the woman who staffs the counter said she'd be sure he got it when he comes in tomorrow. One of those rare encounters with a fellow pipe smoker I could not ignore.
