Enjoyed a tasty Jazz apple, and am smoking Wilke Gentry Royal Blend No. 2 in a black sandblast quarter bend pre-1950 Briarcraft Wimbledon 810 author with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Working and listening to the Red Sox-Mariners game. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Smoking my first bowl of C&D Carolina Red Flake, in a Dr. Grabow dated from 1967-1969, a Commodore 65 Zulu from Peter at RadiantPipes.

It has the metal screw in tenon, with the stinger removed, and a Vulcanite stem.

The Zulu is essentially a forward canted Dublin bowl with a slightly bent stem and an oval shank.

Pipedia mentions this about the Commodore;

  • COMMODORE (c1964) -- First appears in a magazine ad for $7.95 as early as 1964. Like the Sculptura, later models were sandblasted in a "big" blast circa 1967-69 (See "Sculptura" for details.)

I don’t know what’s going on a 50+ year old Ghost ? or the beauty of old briar, because I have a Lakeland essence thing going on here with this first bowl of Red Flake and damm it is yummy! ?

But the pipe was in mint/new condition... hmm

Probably that bottle of Hai Karate Men’s cologne that was in the dresser drawer with pipe before you got it…

So I last year I made some ropes. 50:50 red Virginia and dark fired Kentucky, which I then stoved before letting sit in the cellar to further meld. Trying it tonight and I am stoked. Then again, everything is multiplied by infinite awesomeness when blasting early Sigur Ròs

Love Sigur Ròs…and that pipe is awesome too. How’d your blend turn out?
