How about an "each way bet" ?

Yes, a nice early example of the slot which just goes to show that the so called 'orific bit' didn't have the field to itself from circa 1860 to circa 1935 before it was phased out.
Entering into the spirit of the proceedings here are a few other examples of the 'slotted bit'

D&R Two Timer, twice toasted burleys, in an MM natural finish freehand cob with the nice prickly feel. I have a pound of Two-Timer, which to me is a truckload. I'm glad to say it seems to keep extremely well, if not age with improvement. I'm preparing a cover letter for a big project. I keep sensing I am participating in a practical joke; I have to get my mind right.

More bowls than usual today. Had a bowl of Solani ABF for breakfast, several bowls of Country Squire Black and Tan, and now a bowl of Sheperds Pie for dessert. Still not totally sold on these two blends from Country Squire. I have two more to sample. Rivendell and Second Breakfast. All I've been smoking lately is either Windjammer or Pegasus.
