If I made pipe tobacco my first blend would be called "Clay King".
I would imagine it being a mild, light coloured Virginia / Cavendish blend. Does this sound good 👍???
"Clay King" would NOT contain Latakia...
Do you think "Clay King" would be a flake or ready rubbed tobacco???
I don't imagine "Clay King" being a shag cut.
If I was commissioning "Clay King" it would be made by Gawith Hoggarth or (nearer home) Wilson's of Sharrow.
Do either of these make anything like my hypothetical "Clay King" pipe baccy?
Do any of you know of a real life equivalent to "Clay King"???
When I was at college we grew and sold Nicotiana as a house plant; is this the tobacco plant???

A third of the way through this bowl of year 2012 Rolando’s Own in a smooth straight early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem.

Cube-cut Capstan Blue in the new Savinelli 313.

This time, I tried to cut the cubes to be consistently smaller (cube-ier?) and filled the pipe the night before to get a little more drying time. Some kindling/shake on top might have saved me a few relights, but it's rolling well now. The differences in mouthfeel and flavor (over fully rubbing out) are still blowing my mind a little!
Beautiful pipe and picture...

First time smoking Mixture 79 in a MM Apple Diplomat with a Forever Stem.

To be honest, with some of the comments about the blend, I wasn’t to sure what to except, but that it might be really terrible.

This is very Burley forward tasting, with a lot of good Burley notes going on, along with some subtle sweetness.

I’m shocked, this is a really nice all day blend, mine really tastes like good quality tobacco.

I bought it off of Cup O Joes last week, maybe the blend has improved, from the really low reviews from the past.

The tin note might be a bit odd, but not the taste... ;)

Be well everyone! ❤️

I tried it and liked it right away, didn't even have to think about it.

A bowl of Newminster 400 Navy Flake, which I dried in my repurposed Romanian crystal cigar ashtray with tobacco leaf inlay, in the Savinelli Erica Fiamma 128 Billiard with a Dr. Perl Junior 6mm filter which is shorter then the Savinelli filters but seems as effective. What a great tobacco ! Wish I had ordered this sooner. Again while smoking a tasted a bit of mint amongst the Tea and honey flavors and it really does have a subtle sweet taste to it. I think this will be a staple tobacco for me. And it seems to satisfy my cigarrette cravnga so I may finally be able to give up those last few that have a hold on me. Looking forward to trying the Lane 1-Q and the Balkan Supreme.
