GH Bosun Plug in a late 1800’s Loewe Egg restored by Ryan Alden. The original albatross stem had a new stainless tenon inserted and then Ryan added a small piece of briar to protect the stainless when not in use and doubles as a tamper.

The stem Ryan made is fantastic and is super comfortable.

Also, hockey starts today. I wasn’t raised watching hockey but I absolutely love the game now. Go Knights Go

Does the new stem screw in or is it push pull?

Originally it had a leather gasket that the albatross bone inserted into. When I bought the pipe it was essentially a display piece. Well, I don’t display pipes, I smoke them.

So, it went to Ryan Alden and he secured an insert to the Meer that had delrin. Then he inserted stainless into the albatross bone and the new Cumberland stem.

It’s a work of art and a unique display of pipe engineering. It smokes great.
