In memory of the late Joe Lankford, I am smoking D&R Windsail in a smooth straight dark brown family era “Canadian” by Sasieni with a black tapered vulcanite stem. Those who read my comments about his passing will understand why I'm smoking this Sasieni.

Earlier in the day it was cigar time - I smoked Caldwell Cigars Long Live The King. While I absolutely love Caldwell cigars this batch with 60 ring gauge has horrible construction. They have not put enough tobacco so the 60 ring gauge has air gaps and burns horribly. Either this was an unlucky batch, or they don’t know how to roll a 60 ring gauge. Lost a lot of respect for Caldwell.

Now smoking Cornell and Diehl Epiphany in an Altinay translucent meerschaum billiard

In memory of the late Joe Lankford, I am smoking one of his last creations: Seattle Pipe Club Hogshead plug in a medium bend, smooth brown 1950s Peterson 999 Dublin chubby Rhodesian with a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Eventually, two more Lankford SPC blends will come to market, one of which will be a VaPer. Watching the Braves-Marlins game.

Having been informed just this afternoon of Joe Lankford's passing, this sample of SPC Hogshead from @TheIronMonkey is extra special, and certainly my first go of it is worthy of maximum enjoyment. It is for this reason I am pairing the smoke with nothing but the occasional sip of cold water to clear my palate. Using my non-lat, non-aro pipe, a Stefano Santambrogio Bent Rhodesian.

Bird report: California scrub-jay, House finch, California towhee, Steller's jay, Common raven, Ring-necked dove, Mourning dove, Oak titmouse, Mountain chickadee, Hairy woodpecker, and Red-tailed hawk.

Honored to be in such company with @JimInks smoking the same blend, as seen above. 👍

...although I'm on strike from watching baseball, as I just can't jive with the DH in the National League. And of course, as soon as I quit watching, my Dodgers go on a tear. Go figure.

Good evenin' folks! Smoking Solani 633 in my IMP meerschaum - for some reason, I never smoke this blend - it's fantastic! ...might be partly because it's hard to find. Enjoying some scotch (Monkey Shoulder) and Coke Zero as accompaniments. This is my first Saturday off/not out playing music in forever - enjoying thoroughly. Cheers!
