About a third of a bowl left of D&R Penhooker Silver in a straight smooth brown undated Pre-Republic Peterson Shamrock 263 Canadian with a nickel band and a black tapered vulcanite p-lip stem. An apple follows this smoke. Working and listening to Sam Spade, Detective on the XM.

Enjoyed a small, but tasty Jazz apple and am smoking year 2013 Sam Gawith Squadron Leader in a straight post-1981 GBD Prehistoric 133 billiard with brass accents, the letter K stamped on the shank with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Back to work now.

Almost half way through this bowl of Wilke Peanut Butter and Chocolate in a light brown 1979 rusticated medium bend Italian Sir Jeffrey Dublin sitter with a flared top and yellow saddle stem. Finished work for the day, and am doing a little research.

Been away this weekend with the wife and notmuch of a wireless connection. But, here is what I have been smoking:

KBV The Patience of Doctor Silence
Rattray’s Marlin Flake
Mcconnell’s Red Virginia
C&D King cake - brand new tin I opened the day we left. That is going to need more time to sit.

It is damp where we are, so my pipes are not drying all the way. Add to that the lack of drying for the tobacco and I end up with a lot of glug glug.

I did an experiment this morning. I said previously that I thought my current batch of Country Squire Rivendell had too much Burley in it for me. This morning I took a pair of needle nose tongs and separated those ribbons and bits I thought were Burley (all blonde). I was able to fill the Savinelli EF 128 Billiard and smoke them. I noted bread, chlorophyll like grass and hay, some woodiness, and some nuttiness - but not nutmeat but rather that tanginess that comes from the skin on the nut like on almonds. All good acceptable flavors ! Unfortunately not enough to overcome the tongue bite, the burning throat, sneezing and headache. I only got halfway through the bowl and tossed the rest. Burley is not for me ... I'm too sensitive to the nitrates. For those of you that like it ... I smell and taste what you like in it. I just can't handle it. So enjoy ! There is now more available in the market for you ! :ROFLMAO: Have a great rest of the day ! :)
