Nice to be back to this. My last week off, smoking was cut short by respiratory illness (the brain-poking swab was negative for the big C, thankfully), and then it was back to work. The past three days has been making up for lost time with either my 60/40 Stokkebye Amsterdam/Turkish “pouch mix” or Mid-Town Chestnut in one Stanwell 86 or another. Then something came up ...



My pipe purchases are far and few between anymore, but I saw this Butz-Choquin Carat pop up at smokingpipes.com early this past week, and decided my red Carat needed a companion.



It showed up yesterday afternoon. I’m just finishing up the inaugural smoke, some W. O. Larsen Signature Vintage Mixture. Boy, this stuff is yummy, and the pipe is a good smoker right out of the box. When I’m done with this, I’ll let ‘er cool down, then I’m packing another bowl of the same.

Just fired up the last bowl of this tin of Cornell & Diehl Black Frigate in my Brigham Acadian bent Dublin with orange swirl stem. This stuff has taken me about a year to smoke through the 2oz jar but it has grown on me and I suspect I will be reordering.

During the Saturday "Brady Bunch" ZOOM, I smoked some 2005 Klenderwood in my 80s Eric Nording Handmade 2 bent Dublin, smooth with a partially rusticated rim. It's a very good smoking pipe, and the tobacco was wonderfully mellow.

A quarter of the way through my last smoke of the day, which is the very dry year 2015 D&R A.P. Rimboche in a smooth dark brown, medium bend late 1950s Parker Super Bruyere 45 with a “4” in a circle billiard with a black vulcanite tapered stem.
