Taking out a couple of 1922s today - being Dad’s birth year.

Dad passed away on Wednesday, after a short illness (influenza), 3 days short of his 103rd birthday

I can’t recall ever seeing him with a pipe, but he smoked cigarettes for years - Players Navy Cut, Lucky Strike, Peter Stuyvesant, Benson&Hedges.
He stopped smoking in 1985 after a heart attack

So here’s to you Dad

1st up is a 1922 FLC straight billiard

Being a cigarette smoker, I thought Dad would be happy with the blend of Burley, Virginia and Cavendish in MacBaren’s Navy Flake

So very sorry for the loss of your dad, @OzPiper.

But, at the same time, what a wonderfully long life he lived. Just imagine all the things that he saw, witnessed and heard about that took place in over a century!

I don’t foresee it kicking anything out of the long-term rotation, but I’m certainly glad that it exists, and we should all be so lucky that it’s getting a full run v.s. a limited one.
😍 this!
The spirit of getting more blends into production in the face of ever increasing feel-good regulation (ie legislation without representation) is a task that both sides of the industry (end users and producers) must take on wherever possible!

And that’s an cool little meer!

A well loved man. A life well lived. We should all be so fortunate. May he rest in peace.

Bowl four for the Artist Buddha meer, first time smoking P.J.'s Port Guardian.
Mechanically, I have no complaints for this blend. Perfect to smoke right out of the tin and burns down with incredible ease, all with no bite.
Flavour-wise, while it didn't astonish me, by the time it was burnt away, I audibly went "awww".
It's good. Reminds me in some small way of F&T's Blackjack, but not majorly.
I wouldn't call this a very in-your-face kind of blend, or really even close to "packed with flavor", but thusly far it seems to be a truly decent all-day blend.
