Absolutely stunning pipe. Don't usually like to do a double Kewpie, but this stunner deserves it!! To me, it's got it all!! Wood, fittings, elegance . . . . . 🤩👍👍
Thanks Gord. I was on the lookout for an occhio di pernice that had equal birdseye on both flanks. They're surprisingly hard to find. This one happens to be a 4K but I've seen pezzo unicos that have a small amount of birdseye only on one side. Some ODPs have a starburst appearance that gives the birdseye an appealing 3D effect.

Forgot about Meer Monday, so Monday has to fall on a Tuesday this week. 🙃

Fruit filled morning. Smokers' Pride Cherry Cavendish in my cherry dedicated Meer Miniature, topped off with Chocolate SOS courtesy of Phillies Blunts candy division.

Hardly impressive forum fare, but at least these treats don't make my eczema itch! SP Cherry Cavendish, imho, is a much underrated flavoured aro. Not much else to say, so I won't. And they all breathed a sigh of relief. 😃

Love that pipe . . . very similar to my Peterson Tavern Rhodesian, which is becoming my "go-to" evening company pipe. 🤩
Thank you! I noticed that similarity the other day when you posted it but forgot to mention it, I think that Tavern Rhodesian is a looker too! I really like the Carroll for straight Virginias, I am interested in a pipe that is like it in every way save a larger bowl size for more complicated mixtures.

I've noticed several guys on the forum have Peterson Churchwardens, and like them. You might want to look into a longstem. I cut my teeth on McQueen 'wardens, when a couple of years ago I bought a bunch of them at a bargain price, off a sword and knife company that was moving out of pipes, when the Tolkein Lord of the Ring movies waned in fashion and the craze was over.

Advantanges - they promote relaxation, and yes, they do smoke cooler; I've measured the stem length with both a thermometer and my fingers . . . . you can feel the heat in the first 4 inches, and then it gets cooler right to about 2" below the mouthpiece, where it is room temperature. This coolness definitely helps in complex tobaccos - it's no accident that all of the pipes I've biased for Orientals (save one) are longstems. Don't hesitate on McQueens - they're excellent. Woodstems are quirky, but you get used to them for sure.

Also, I'd mention that if you want to go with complex flavours, avoid Cherrywood and go Briar. Again, almost all my dedicated English or Balkan pipes are cherrywood, except one, which is the exception that proves the rule. :ROFLMAO: Cherrywood doesn't seem to go for complexities, at least to my palate. It likes a straight and simple flavour.

PS: I have a strong feeling that my longstem Brog Military Olive is going to do great with Orientals. I'll cover this in the next few weeks when I find out for sure! 😃

Pee Dee in this Northern Briars Regal. Diet Dr. Pepper. Eyes still haven’t recovered from being dilated. Good news is, I’m good with same old prescription for another year.

Thinking that I'd try Bob's Chocolate Flake in that pipe . . . . looks like it was designed for a chocolate based tobacco! lol. Wish I could get my hands on a bit of that stuff, but until outrageous duties cease and desist, quothe the Raven, "Nevermore."
