Well, I finally got out with my "horse traded" pipe and tobacco for a very enjoyable smoke this afternoon. The pipe is much larger than my other pipes both in bowl and physical size and I was a bit apprehensive. But since I don't clench it is very comfortable in hand. Might need to pursue others in this size

Yesterday afternoon - no surprise here. Same photo as day before yesterday, same pipe, same tobacco, and same great smoke. No need to change what you're satisfied with. However, I tried out some techniques suggested by forum members on the tall and narrow bowls - looser packing and a few other techniques. Had a slightly shorter but more quality smoke without all the fussing around. Getting there!
The J05 and Black Frigate were made for each other! No surprise for my evening smoke either. With all of this testing and breaking in, needed a tongue break. Medium size Church Warden with Pirate Kake. Let's see what this day brings. Will check in later.
