An after dinner smoke of Rattray's Buckingham in a Parker.
Relaxing after a wonderful salad, snapper and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm smoking year 2012 Dunhill Royal Yacht in a 1970s smooth brown slight bend GBD International 9665 dublin rough top sitter with a flat bottom and a black vulcanite saddle stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Still watching the Guardians-Yankees game. Been a good one, too.
Now I'm on to some H&H Black House in a Viking Classic, watched a beautiful comeback against the Yankees and that warms my heart on this chilly fall night.

I'd be hard pressed to think of a better feeling than being done with (another) visit to the in-laws. One of the few is being done with that visit AND having enough time at home for a pipe before dark! Drew Estate Heirloom Cherry in a Savinelli Mattone 614 faux-Hungarian, with a well-deserved beer. The more I have to do these visits, I might have to start demanding they kick in to cover the inevitable therapy bills. 9/10

In a Savinelli Trevi Rusticated (320) 6mm
Trying also for the first time, White Elephant Meerschaum filters. Since I’m trying this blend for the first time, I can’t be certain if the meerschaum is muting it, but I’ve been told meerschaum filters don’t mute the flavors.
If I had to take a seriously educated guess, I’d say these are muting based on the reviews, because it comes across extremely light/subtle in flavors, like an all day smoking blend.
I dried the blend maybe 20 minutes, hardly what I’d call enough time to wreck a blend.
I’ll certainly try this again with the balsa filters.
Hmm not sure if a 9mm is any different with flavors, but I hope not as restrictive on the air flow.

P.S. After posting this, after only a few puffs I took out the meerschaum filter and put in a Savinelli balsa one. The meerschaum does seem to be muting it. Also this blend certainly does comes across a lot lighter/subtle compared to the reviews… hmm

Looks like the sweet and spicy allure of CC thwarted the operation against it.
Earlier some Sutliff 507-C in the Vauen Olaf bent egg before cleaning, rinsing and wiping out the Vauen Olaf, Pete Pub and Barontini 1/2 spigot. Paper toweled them out but they will be drying out for a couple of days. I'm deciding what to rotate in the meantime ...

I stuffed 3 Newminster rounds in the donegal Rocky and wow, so sweet and tasty. The rounds were aged for 6 months and they are perfect. Coffee and a book 
Some 2020 Blackpool in a Grabow Omega. I feel like this blend might need a wide bowl. Anyone else feel that way about very stoved blends?
