Relaxing after a wonderful salad, monk fish and snow peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I've a quarter of a bowl left of year 2013 Capstan Blue Flake in a straight 1924 Dunhill’s “Shell Briar” patent pot 7 with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching the World Series with Sleepy Suzy by my side. All the ferals have eaten except for the still absent Abner the Eager. Harry the Hairy snuck in a while ago, and I gave him a lot of attention for a few minutes before I put him out. I've heard him purr before, but this time, it was a combination of that and trilling. Never heard that from him before.
Drying box remnant mix in the Pete Pub pipe but the draft hole got plugged and the czech tool was too short to clear it. I've been looking for a longer poker. Fortunately I was at work and looked in an antique desk and found a vintage 5" brass eye screw that is a perfect fit and long enough. I'm thrilled with my new poker find. Its a long brass rod with only 5 or so screw threads at the bottom and a ring at the end.
Almost half way through this bowl of year 2020 Pfeifen Huber Virginia Golden Flake in a 1938 smooth straight brown patent Dunhill R 115 bowling ball apple with a tapered cumberland stem.
Bowls of Sutliff Match Field & Stream, a house blend entitled “Seven Seas of Ryback” (D&R Ryback + Mac Baren 7 Seas Regular), and then some C&D Three Friars, all enjoyed on an unseasonably warm evening on the patio - perhaps one of the last of the year.
