Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am smoking the last of this jar of year 2002 F&T Cut Virginia Plug in a straight smooth brown 1920s LHS Purex double patent no. 1587048 and 19085630 Real Briar Root Silver Circle 42 apple with a tapered black vulcanite stem. One of these days, I hope I find the box I put the other CVP tins in. Gold Star Papua New Guinea, neat, is my drink.

- Interesting indeed: how does the Catlinite affect the smoking experience? Is it at all like a Meerschaum, or a ceramic? (I did smoke one once, but it was only a brief toke at a Chanyupa ceremony and many years ago).

I've never smoked ceramic. Unlike meerschaum it doesn't mute the flavors at all but did impart a buttery taste to the tobacco. This may go away with usage as this was my first smoke in it.

The bowl has very thin walls and got rather hot, so I had to let it rest quickly. The chamber is ridiculously small as well, my pinky finger hardly fit. If you'd like I could keep you updated but honestly I think it was 100% worth the $50 dollar expense USD.
