Finishing up the last bowl of my first tin of Peterson Flake, in my Savinelli 313 Prince. It’s wild how some bowls of it have been good, but others have been strangely off-tasting. I’m sure it’s all due to the circumstances at the time, but I’ll give my other tin a shot before buying any more for the cellar.

Started the day trying out The Beast for the first time, and I was thoroughly impressed. Followed that up with a bowl of Christmas Cheer, and now I’m smoking some Capstan Blue that I jarred up in 2020. It’s been a beautiful fall day full of fantastic pipe tobacco and I am on cloud 9

About a third of a bowl left of 2021 Watch City Simply VOriental in a straight smooth medium brown 1930s Wilshire 5 bulldog (Comoy’s second) made for John’s Pipe Shop in Los Angeles with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

A couple of years back I spotted a Peterson Sherlock Holmes Hudson, aka XL21, at Rich's in Portland, OR, but I didn't get it. It's haunted my pipe dreams, however, and as autumn drew nearer I had a downright compulsion to get one and stuff it full of strong burley.

The first one I ordered from SPC was a sandblasted dud. I mean, it was truly awful workmanship. So I returned it and got a smooth one with a dark stain instead.

I've been slowly breaking it in. Tonight I thoroughly enjoyed Solani Aged Burley Flake.

NOW it's autumn.

What prompted this big move?

Back in January, my wife had an unpleasant car accident.Due to the nature of my job,I was unable to be present.I found out 10 days later when I returned home.
No red cross message,no nothing from the hospital. So I decided it would be better for her if she had her close reletives near by for support during my absence. Therefore,this move.I hope to retire in 2 to 3 years anyway

Finished work for the day, fed the ferals and got a few good photos, and an addition to the feral saga which I'll deal with later. I'm nearing the half way mark on this bowl of Wilke No. 515 Double Shot in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This is No. 515 with twice the rum of the Basil Rathbone blend.

Half way through this bowl of Watch City American Cut Plug Mixture in a year 2021 straight black sandblasted Peterson Ragaire 150 bulldog with a unmounted army mount tapered acrylic cumberland fish tail stem. That'll do it for me today.
