Condor green in a vintage clay. John's just come back from holiday in Spain; he's got me 5 packets of Clan - total cost GBP45; less than half the UK price! I think Clan smokes well in a clay pipe but burns hot especially in a clay. I can see why the Egremont Crab Fair clay pipe fast smoking competition use Clan:)
I'd have liked to have taken part but it's same weekend as Derbyshire Woodland Festival and I wasn't going to miss seeing the Vikings (and Jason the blacksmith); still got to smoke a clay lit from the forge!

@halfdan: You are so right. Brown Irish X in a clay is a great combination!
@Dave760 Gawith tobacco is VERY well suited to clay pipes. Can you imagine how many clay pipes have been smoked with Gawith tobacco since 1792???
Going to get some Cannon Plug for when I see the Sealed Knot again; it's rumoured to date back to the English Civil War.
