I ran out of my favorite brand of Columbian Coffee (they are not all the same) so I had to run to the grocery store, which has been out of it, to pick an alternative. I bought a more expensive alternative but I believe it is the same coffee -- I'll know tomorrow morning. If you don't hear screams it is the same. The next time the store get my coffee in I am buying a case or two of it to 'cellar'.

On the way I had a 1/2 bowl of Lane 1-Q in the Vauen Olaf bent egg to calm my nerves. Country Squire Old Toby will always be my #1 favorite but sometimes I need something less sweet and Lane 1-Q is definitely in the second spot. I really enjoy the flavor. To me it is like (but not same as) mixing Newminster 400 Navy flake and some Old toby together. I will be ordering more in bulk shortly and maybe some more Newminster 400 as backup. And the Vauen Olaf has turned into a near perfect pipe for me as well.

That they do!

Drying some P&C Match Hickory on a paper towel for lunting today, to go in my MM Country Gent. Bird report: California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, California towhee, House finch, Common raven, and Dark-eyed junco. It's early, though.

Still waiting for Dave Roberts to get his walking papers from Dodger management... 🙏
It is very apparent you enjoy bird watching.

Have you looked into the Birds of a Feather line by Sutliff? It's a series of about 6 different blends designed by Georg Jensen with a different bird on each tin, which will be released over one year.

The tin art is done well. May be worth checking out.

Yes, I've checked out the tin art. Very intricate! Part of the reason I'm one of those weirdos who prefers looking at tins to pipes is my appreciation of the beautiful tin art. As you can imagine, the stupid health warnings bummed me out more than the average guy!

Drew Estate is still my favorite, though:

Make the most of it mate, as soon as you hit 40 the crumpet don’t want to know. The all conquering St. Bruno can also ‘backfire’ on you.
Mariah herself left me wanting. When she got a whiff of the Bruno, rendered the poor sweet girl senseless so it did. Luckily for her I is a gentleman & didn’t take advantage of her delicate state.

Nothing beats a crumpet for breakfast

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, rainbow trout and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm half way through this bowl of year 2016 Sutliff 507-C Slices in a black sandblast PSB medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY 4AB No. 228/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching a documentary on Napoleon.
