Thanks to @UB 40 I finally get to taste a clay pigeon full of straight Cyprus Latakia.
The smell alone was quite a kick in the head and to be honest I can't wait for the true taste of it.
It talks the talk, can it walk the walk? Can I?
Got some of my dear cheap'n'sweet rosè to give me a little walking stick for the journey.

I definitely see why this is regarded as a condiment, it has a very strong and distinct taste on its own but it lacks other aromas and needs them desperately. But I don't think it needs a whole lot of it,
just something really sweet.
Next time I'll pair it with an equal amount of that Danish style Black Cavendish and a dash of Perique, that should do some good. This bowl is about finished but the intensity of the taste was pretty much equal throughout the smoke, no matter if I sipped or really puffed. Quite the perfect condiment indeed.

First time smoking GL Pease Sixpence. Have it in a Georg Jensen bent brandy. I was a little overzealous with dinner last night and burnt the hell out of my tongue, so I'm probably not getting the full idea of this blend. Packed great, lit great, is smoking perfectly. Just don't taste a whole ton yet.

Just remolded the fish tail stem and button with super glue, gave this elegant Oldtimer no name stamped St. Claude a nice buffing on the wheel and added a silver band on the pencil shank for a blink. Smoking now a few amount brown No. 4 mixed with a the left overs of a cake of “Old Man’s Pipe Story”.

This old factory pipe of those days, sure one of a million made at times St. Claude was the blooming centre of briar pipes, has a few traces of the arched French Wheel left at the heel. It smokes like a champ.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am just passing the half way mark on this bowl of year 2014 Sutliff 1849 in a medium bend smooth dark brown 1968 Barling 5631 London England TVF billiard silver spigot with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Magnum Roastery Jamaican Blue Mountain, neat, is my drink.

1/2 a bowl of Country Squire P.S. Blend (Latakia and cavendish) in a Savinelli Erica Fiamma 128 Billiard with a 6 mm filter. I thought I tasted a grape flavor or perhaps plum throughout but the scent was woodsy and a bit of floral pine - reminiscent of a milder Ralph Lauren Polo cologne (smell not taste). It was really quite good.
I packed it tighter than normal as an experiment for myself; I used to pack too tight, then started gravity filling now I want to try something in between to see which lasts longer and smokes better.
