Dino,

Thank you so much.

Dad had a pacemaker inserted 3months ago.
I asked my sister to inquire of his cardiologist if that came with a warranty as we'd already paid a deposit for his 100th Birthday Party next weekend 😄
Perhaps the only conceivable way to give a cardiologist a heart attack...oh, the irony! :ROFLMAO:

A quarter of the way through this bowl of D&R VIP in a 2004 smooth long shank Trever Talbot Ligne Bretagne Faite en Bretagne 4/3 lumberman with a black vulcanite tapered stem. Working and listening to The Adventures of Ellery Queen. It's a shame only a few episodes of this radio series are in circulation.

Last smoke of the day is Wilke No. 515 in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This was the blend Basil Rathbone smoked. Finished the second page of this five page Archie story, fed Suzy and Molly, and will check on the ferals before doing some reading.

This Sunday Morning: Capstan Original Navy Cut (blue) in a GL (George Leousis), Greek made, briar pipe.
Every time I smoke this blend I remember that I like the yellow edition better.
It seems that here, summer is not over yet... I think I'm going for swimming later on...
Have a nice Sunday good people!

Here we are the same, dear friend Christos. The end of October and everyone is on the beaches. The coats are rotting with mildew in the closets.

Finished work quite early this sunday morning. Smoking Perique-Cones and reading the third book 📕 f autobiographical notes from Walter Kempowski on post WW II episodes in the Soviet Zone. Walter and his Brother Robert are sentenced to prison, accused of spy activities for the the US. They delivered freight lists of live-ressources, metal, machines, cement, lacquer, confiscated electronics like radios, wheat, cattle, milk etc the soviet stole despite the rules written in treaties between the occupational forces in those days.

It was the dawn of the communist regime, quite similar to the former Nazis. It was the birth of separation, the root of the later police state, the so called German Democratic Republic which lasted until 1989.

Walter tells us of several months of solitary confinement and winter days naked in a cell the floor covered with water and open window.

A yes, sweet Sunday morning.

Starting off the morning with C&D Mad Fiddler in my new Gelrode estate. Update from last night:

After a lovely Oak Alley in my SMS meer (I think that will be my go-to for the blend now), I went back to the Aberrant and it tasted much better. However, I smoked myself green and spent a good 45 minutes recovering.

I think both terms are incorrect. There seems to be a complete disregard for the term “climate cycle” and here in Australia we definitely have 10’ish year cycles, so much so that in Agriculture you can nearly schedule your profit and loss statement by them. In the 40’s here you could flog a flea acros the paddocks and not lose it, 50’s were wet (floods), 60’s below average but not savagely dry, 70’s again (floods), 80’s dry as a chip, 90’s below average, 2000’s were above average and the last 3/4 years have been well above with the last two being floods. I know this because I have my family diaries and rainfall records going back to 1822. This has been my families profession all this time and we have been very successful at being cautious when the dry cycle approaches and have historically been in front of the market when the wet comes. Scientists are very good at doing models but change numbers slightly and outcomes become very different and you can make a “model” speak to an agenda. Be careful on believing all that is written even by learned fellows!
My father would say “ahh yes, the expert. X being and unknown quantity and spurt being a drip under pressure”

Yes on the acrylic stem and the pipe is 5.5 inches long so it’s not a nose warmer

Fantastic post!

I'm going to have to screenshot this, my father in law and I discuss this quite a bit, weather cycles and supposed climate change. I still remember hearing some 'expert' on the ABC news during the 2019-20 bushfire's proclaim climate change was here and to get used to never having rain again 😂

Very refreshing to read, I'd take your family journals over the last 200 years against the experts records of the last almost 100.

Anyways, to be back on subject I have enjoyed GLP Union Square in my Savinelli Miele

Beautiful fall morning, a Zippo day (windy as heck, leaves from the giant maple in the front yard are landing on my head here on the back deck, lol). Have my pup, a Peterson 2022 POTY SH rusticated 4AB No. 67/500 and Peterson’s Sweet Killarney. The Sherlock pipes are for contemplating! I am headed to Iowa City for homecoming end of the week and my oldest daughter has invited me to take her and her new beau out to dinner. Apparently he is invited (and, of course, welcome to come) for Thanksgiving IF he passes the Thanksgiving In Movies/TV quiz I am working on right now! (Yep, stole the idea from “Diner”, haha).
