We celebrated our 49th. year of "her not killing me" with dinner at Chicago's Italian Village Restaurant, one of our favorites.
Bombay Sapphire Martini, up, for me, and G&T for Linda.
A "Captain's Salad," prepared at the table, was followed by Scaloppini ala Toscanini (beef marinated and cooked in a Barolo wine sauce with mushrooms), and complimented with glasses of a very nice Barbera wine. A cannoli for Linda and tiramisu for me, with an espresso.
When we got home, I enjoyed a Partagas Serie D No. 4, out under the gazebo, as we sipped some port, to keep us warm.

Happy Anniversary! 49 years is a hell of a stretch. Great choice for dinner. The Village is one of the best places to eat in or near the loop, and that’s saying something. (Boy, I miss downtown Chicago ... )

Couldn't sleep, and have a need to do a few things around the house, so I'm up and a quarter of the way through this bowl of circa year 2000 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 1982 black sandblasted paneled slight bend Savinelli flat bottom sitter with a black vulcanite saddle stem.

A quarter of the way through this bowl of year 1945 Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company Good Old Summer-Time in a 1979 pebble relief Verona Corallo 3080 natural Oom Paul with a black acrylic saddle stem. Have enough for one more bowl. Haven't smoked this pipe in quite a while, but it's a very good smoker.

Half way through this bowl of Ken Byron Ventures Yoshimi's Vizmir in a medium bend smooth paneled 2017 Celebi Turkish Meerschaum with a gold and black swirl acrylic tapered stem. Didn't have enough to fill the bowl as I jarred the rest.

Just past the half way mark on this bowl of 1960s Ogden’s Gold Block in a 1979 brown grain etched Lane Era Charatan's Make medium bend calabash shape 483DC with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. When this is done, I'll catch a few zzzzzs before my regular Sunday Zoom chat.
