Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am almost half way through this bowl of Wilke No. 515 in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This was the blend Basil Rathbone smoked. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Smoked some Ennerdale in my Huber, which I hereby designate as dedicated to saucy Lakelands.


I tend to agree with the assessment — which has been disseminated — that recent releases of this product are light on the sauce. I'm just getting into this jar of bulk from around 2020. It's much less Ennerdale-y than what I remembered from my 2017 tinned lot. It's good, but a little disappointing. Seems milder and a little lighter overall. Any word on the 2022 release yet? I see some tins are available at Watch City.

Did some late night low calorie snacking, and may last smoke of the day is Wilke No. 515 with less rum in a 1998 smooth straight Butz-Choquin Bistro 1501 pot with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Reading while this bowl lasts.

I've just been lucky enough to be friends with some amazing carvers. I spent a weekend with Bruce Weaver and Werner Mummert several years ago and watched Bruce carve my fugu blowfish. Those two together were hilarious!
