mixture 79 with a little cigar leaf (I use empty erinmore tin to blend tobacco) in my first MM cob, It's much better than I thought, cool and dry! I should have bought cob earlier.Now is the time to do some research on clayView attachment 179980

Half way through this bowl of Jim's Va/Bur #2 in a 2020 medium bend sandblasted burnt umber Peterson Irish Harp XL90 billiard with a silver band and a tapered reddish brown with black stripes acrylic stem. I may end the day with this smoke.

About cobs, I can't agree more with you. In my opinion, this is a pipe with American characteristics.
Clays on the way, I hope it can let me experience the kind of pipe J.S.Bach once smoked.

Thank you. The strange vignette you see is from a cheap quick way to preview a negative. I hold cell camera over a loupe on top of the neg, then invert the image in Lightroom, so the ring is just the bottom edge of the loupe. I don't have a good way to scan negatives at home and since I just developed the film last night, I haven't had the chance to drop them off at a lab to be scanned. Normally I would just use the cell pics to figure out which frames I'd want to print in my dark room, but since a lot of friends like to use my images for social media, I'll have them scanned. I should get into the habit of making contact sheets, but scanning is just easier.

If you are just sketching the effect or selecting images, the epson v750 is a good scanner, v850pro is certainly better

Hi everyone, I had a great weekend with family I’d not seen in ages. I gave my nephew, a Royal Engineer in the nuclear, biological and chemical division, a few of my pipes that I thought would be tough enough in the field and all the necessary accoutrements including a shed load of different tobaccos for him to try. It’s not right for a RE to not smoke a pipe so I’m hoping he’ll take to it.
I’m currently smoking ODF in the 1922 Masta straight billiard and waiting for the worst delivery service in the world - Evri, formerly Hermes but they had to change their name because their reputation was so bad - to deliver six Tilshead and Upshall pipes that I brought last week and should have arrived days ago. Needless to say I’m bloody furious atm.

Bach smoked a clay, and he loved smoking. It's especially interesting to see his comments when he uses a finger to tamp the tobacco when a tamper is not about. Typical pipesmoker problem. It makes him one of us.

Virginia Gold Lemon that was dabbed with sweet red wine and rolled into a tight cigar, then cut up into slices, heated and processed until ready to pack and smoke. Still a little moist so it went into the cob.





There definitely is additional flavor from the red wine and more sweetness but not all that much.
Next time I'm going to let it soak longer, maybe the leaf will turn pink as well.

Taking a break between meetings to try some LJ Peretti Strawberry Patch in my Dunhill Prince. Threw this in the cart when I ordered Thanksgiving Day. Very little written about this tobacco on the internet but I find it tasty! Very prominent strawberry flavor. Would be great in the summer.
