Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and have about a third of a bowl left of 2021 Watch City Simply Orange Virginia in a black sandblast medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY 4AB No. 182/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Drinking the last of this bag of Lavazza Classico coffee, neat. Time to clean a few pipes.

Part way through this bowl of year 2018 Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight, dark brown early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Enjoyed a tasty Jazz apple, and am smoking C&D Virginia Flake in straight medium brown 1922-1937 Irish Free State era Peterson 222 bullcap with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. This time smoking this pipe. Sure has been hard deciding on what to smoke in it. I just knew it wouldn't be a Virginia with much or any topping. Not going to smoke something scented or heavily topped in a pipe this old. I can do that with a lot of other pipes. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

Absolutely gorgeous pipe! Thanks for showing it. I don’t think anyone is making bullcaps other than Mike Billington of Blakemar Briars. I also think that pipe would like some Rich Dark Honeydew stuffed in it!

Ordered some Arrowhead to try what I saw some nice gentle comments about, and for an easy blend to put into a an el cheapo pocket pouch. It showed up this week so trying it in what is the very first briar I purchased 35+ years ago... The Arrowhead is very light after the english and scottish blends I've been all about lately, no doubt a standard all-day blend! Will jar up the rest of the bag and see if it does anything in a year or so.

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, that blend would do well in it, but I don't have any of it, and would prefer something less flavored in it so I can take full advantage of what old wood does for tobacco.
