Having Sutliff Match Victorian in my bent basket pipe. This is most likely my last smoke of the year as the temperatures are forecasted for 30’s next week. Drinking hot coffee to fight the dropping temps as the sun has dropped behind the mountains.
A quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2016 Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake in a straight smooth brown post-1964 Parker Super Bruyere 88/F group 3 bulldog with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This should get me to dinner time.
Getting the weekend started with Wessex Campaign Dark Flake in a Mark Twain and Pikesville Rye in my glass. Cheers!

Samuel McLardy - a name probably better known for their clay pipes ... in business from 1865 - 1929 they must have churned out clay pipes in the millions, from fancy registered designs such as "The Footballer" - regular and Cadger size - to basic navvy or workman clays such as this trio
By the 1920s they were putting their stamp on pipes like this ...

Looking at adverts for Three Nuns from the 1900s to the 1920s most of the characters smoking clay pipes are in Civil War garb ... I was thinking that with you interests you might like to try THREE NUNS in a clay if you haven't already done so

It looks like they dropped the period costume ads in the 1930s and used a vicar to advertise the brand until the early 1950s ...
... after which the ads looked more modern/sporty or were text heavy ...
... until the 1960s when they seemed to go back to an earlier time with the set-up not dissimilar in style to a still life painting

I’ve been smoking Peretti blends all afternoon. I started with Tashkent then Oriental #40 and Royal. I just about loaded up some Cambridge flake but decided it was time for something different.
