Thanks for the reply. It is an interesting pipe to be sure, and it comes across as a hybrid of the two brands. The majic stem system certainly does look original - I like the way it can be easily removed. Plus, the air intake is designed so that the smoke should be dry no matter what. is the briar Lee or Lird Davenport? Me thinks it is Lee
Gotta be Lee. All the examples I’ve seen are classic Lee shaping.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2019 C&D Yorktown in a 1979 smooth brown large briar 221-B Baker Street calabash made in Israel with a black vulcanite stem and ferrule in the military mount style. Haven't smoked this pipe in quite a while, but I used to when I watched Sherlock Holmes movies as a young fella. We're getting ready to watch a Jeremy Brett Holmes episode. I ought get that entire series some day. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

I love Jeremy Brett's interpretation of Holmes. The entire series is available on YouTube as a playlist. But I also would like to own them in DVDs so not to worry about the availability on the internet.

At last! A decent, 75-minute smoke of Charatan Black Flake (which isn't), accompanied by black coffee (which is). And Warrior Princess Cassisurata Amberfire Ravenfur Snowclaws (sitting on me probably only because the stove isn't lit yet). The wide oval-shanked 'Jambo' African Meer Zulu seems to get the best out of even a boring flake like this. Subtle underlying notes emerge, previously undetected, in the second half of the bowl - compost, orange peel, stale chocolate cake... ah, well: only one small pipeful left. I shan't be buying any more. :)

Half way through this bowl of pre-2014 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed Sleepy Suzy, and all of the ferals. M'lady fed Molly Danger. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
