I was out early this morning entertaining the trout before the holiday weekend crowds descended.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm just finishing this bowl of KBV Jupiter Slices 7.1 in a post-1938 Pre-Republic Peterson Dublin straight smooth X155 bulldog with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Nigel Bruce smoked this model in two Sherlock Holmes movies. Please consider asking Shane Ireland at Smoking Pipes and Peterson to bring the pipe back into production. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. All four ferals have been in and out, a couple more than once, but all are out now. Sleepy Suzy is by my side. Molly Danger is on m'lady's lap.

Made it to Sahara. Put some 507C back in my Ropp Stout and sat down for my first ever slot game. $5 in and got enough back for a tin of something. I'm happy. Been one heck of a day, got a new hat at the Canal Shops and we've just about walked our feet off

Going to take the monorail back towards MGM for supper and then Uber back to the hotel. Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon tomorrow.

One afternoon smoke today, and one non-smoke. Smoke first: Sunday Picnic in the oriental dedicated McQueen Miniature Fable. New look jar - marked with sticky dots as a visual code for genre/tobacco/designation.

Taste buds really improving - could actually taste some of the differences in the oriental content today.

I included the tobacco leaf in the shot because not only is it an oriental leaf, but it's shape reminded me of some of the, shall we say, novel pipes that have been posted in this thread as of late.

Second smoke is my first posted non-smoke. It ain't gonna happen for a stretch. I've just finished initial break-ins of two new pipes, and I'm just going to stare at that big, beautiful new Rhodesian Meer for a week or probably two, fondle it, and admire it, cuz I'm simply not subjecting myself to more of the same break-in malaise that we all have to go through with a new pipe. The line has been drawn. Quothe the Raven, "Nevermore for Two Weeks."
