Not a Peterson... 🤫 Wow.
Hand made in Italy. Large pipe, large chamber.
It's probably been at least 2 years since I smoked it, I don't think that it's actually even properly broken in yet.
I bought pipes in the beginning for looks alone, prior to knowing & deciding what my functional needs were at this stage of my life. I see this more as a "retirement" pipe, and I'm not there yet. But it was a good change of pace last night.

Hmmmm . . . . meant in a most positive way, but that thing is so ugly it is indeed beautiful. The underside . . . uhhhh . . . I'll say no more except I've never seen anything like it.

Starting off my smoking day with a bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed my cats, and all four ferals. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Just finished a bowl of Balkan Sasieni in an Ashton XXX Pebble Grain (1999). Wild Kingdom here today: the four crows were here at 7:30 begging (they got bread and shelled walnuts), and fed the squirrels that gathered while I was outside with walnuts and almonds. Our pair of cardinals showed up (they've been absent since last summer) and they got walnuts.

Well, the day that started off the pits (something to do with taxation and a homeowners' grant) has been rapidly on the upswing. Started with my morning smoke, a real changeup from the past week. Sometimes i'ts good to change a pattern:

After a week of pipe break-ins, and a miserable continuation of the taste problem due to an ear infection, all things are on the upswing. Broke almost every pattern today. Here's my morning smoke, yeah, at the computer keyboard where i usually don't smoke or smoke a cigar . . . .

Today, a pipe. A longstem McQueen Miniature Prospector, stuffed with the "cherry juice with morning cold coffee", Smoker's Pride Cherry Cavendish. Pulled an astounding 25 minute smoke out of this tiny bowled sucker (checked with the clock on the computer screen - I'm actually well past timing my smokes now), and actually had 95% of the tastebuds operating. As I say, "upswing". Remainder of what you may find interesting in Skippable Drivel below the shot . . . . . oh yeah. Mentioned that I lost my travel pipe tool. Found it this morning, but have since lost my regular "at home" one  . . . . and found out a few days ago I'll be gone from the forum for about 10 days starting June 2nd . . . .

Skippable Drivel: Lots happening lately, much of will result in at least a 10 day absence from the forum in 10 days time. I've been scheduled for hernia surgery on June 12, with pre-tests and other medical bs from the 2nd to the 7th. Club duties before hand, getting several parcels couriered because Canada Post is now apparently on strike as expected, and some family/friend stuff happening right now (some dicey, some good, travel involved) and some taxation stuff that has to be taken care of ASAP, will make my online presence erratic at best. Looks like my Mr. Brog Nosewarmer is going to be in storage in Ottawa for the strike duration.

Am a bit puzzled at the fact that the usual 6-8 month wait for surgery has only taken 5 weeks. Causes a bit of angst . . . the surgeon wants to get it done asap, but as he is also a family friend and one of the very few dawkturz I trust, so that could be viewed as a positive. I also have contrainments, (past strokes which caused the loss of my right eye about 15 years ago, type 2, etc) .

Also positive is the ear infection is finally abating, and I'd say smell/taste is about 90-95% now. Enjoyed the morning smoke just posted. But I'm an old fart of 74, and realize that dung happens, or may not, as the case may be.

Thanks for listening. Gotta go cut a piece of cheese to go with my whine, now, eh? Have a great rest of the day.

Earlier, I did a set of walking reps, and smoked a bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem.

I followed that up with a tasty lunch, and am now smoking year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Jamaican Estate Reserve, neat, is my drink. Watching the Orioles-Red Sox game.
