Just finished smoking year 2021 unreleased Sutliff Black Virginia Flake in a late 80's, early 90s James Upshall P DS Tilshead England Made By Hand L185 Canadian with a silver band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Had a good chat with a good friend. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

A third of a bowl left of year 2012 St. James Flake in a straight smooth brown Algerian briar post-WW2-early 50s family era Barling’s Make Ye Olde Wood T.V.F. Made in England EL billiard with a tapered black ebonite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. Harry the Hairy came in to eat, and laying by my feet. He can be divisive to the other cats, but to us, he's affectionate and appreciative.

Hey Paul, I have noticed that you have been smoking a lot of HU blends. I have yet to delve into them due to my backlog of other blends. But, this particular one is for Edward G. With the old Edward G Robinson blend now gone away, I almost ordered some just to see how it compares. Is it similar to the old EGR???
I get some similarities of the old but my palate isn’t as refined as it needs to be to pull out what all the differences are between the two
The Original American Blend was an Aromatic of Burley, Cavendish and Latakia.
The HU Blend is Perique, Dark Fired Kentucky, Burley, Orientals, and Cavendish.
I think( term used loosely 😂but I obviously stand corrected that the HU is not an aromatic but pulls out similar taste nuances with just the tobacco. That being said they are vastly different.
Maybe @JimInks can chime in as he knows both versions extensively and the US Version was very much his child and without him we wouldn’t have had it as long as we did.
That being said the HU is definitely worth the price of admission to take the ride. 👍
I’m really enjoying all the Hu blends and Especially Makhuwa,
Director’s Cut and Ed G. @Sigmund turned me onto them just prior to their US debut so special Thanks to him for his advice.

Thanks Paul. I too, lack the palate refinement to pull some of these subtleties out of some of these blends but your analysis did help me and I am definitely gonna try it.
Great idea to get @JimInks thoughts on the matter.
Hope he chimes in....

Finally caught up on posts. It's been a pretty busy week. But on the menu for my morning commute today were the remnants of 2 PocketJars I keep in my work bag, GH&Co Kendal Dark and ODF. I really love these two tobaccos and prefer them separate, but they tasted pretty good mixed!

For my commute home I had the last bit of another PocketJar, GH&Co Rum Twist loaded in my Thayne 33.

Hope you all had a great day!
Love the Thayne!
