Today's only smoke, my MM Cob with Pirate Kake. I'm smoking the varnish out of the bowl so as to ready the pipe for my travel kit. I like PK, and will always have it around for those times where it suits my mood or my level of tongue-bite, lol. I generally smoke only English style tobaccos on day trips, with two pipes during rests during the day, and a couple of cigars and some chew for when I'm out on the boat or on the range, so the fodder suits the purpose of today's pipe on all counts. The little cobs will be used for in-town day trips at the parks, with a small cigar or two. Better match for the time scale.

Doing something interesting for the 4th of July, which I do celebrate, even though I'm a Canuck, just to give a tip of the hat to my many American friends. I've taken my top 5 favourite tobaccos (Mad Fiddler, Black Frigate, Bengal Slices, Bourbon Blue and now Nightcap, put them in a drawer and locked them up until July 4th. This will give me a chance to investigate, smoke and get to know many fine tobaccos I have that have been ignored a bit too much, and finish my pipe revamping. Then I'll celebrate the 4th by opening the drawer and pigging out. :ROFLMAO:

Some perhaps interesting Skippable Drivel below the done in haste cob shot, smeared filter and all.

Skippable Drivel:

My indoor range at home is saving me oodles of time. I can fine tune 4x or 5x the amount of shots that is possible at the range without getting up because I can shoot targets with 5 different guns and at 5 different distances without getting up from the chair and tripod I use as a bench at home. This is unbelievably better for the hernia. I will have to do the 18 - 50 yard sightings at the outdoor range, anyways, which doesn't open until June 1 because of burm and other structural improvements currently being made. By that time I'll also have selected the 2 pistols and one rifle I'll be using for the demo, so a couple of afternoons will do the trick.

I'm also, apparently, going to be reprising my college level Music Appreciation Course for Non-Music majors that I've taught eight or nine times, but it's not just a question of a repeat. This will be given for a highschool level group, so a lot of simplifications and exchanges of projected material, handouts, and selections of musical examples will have to be done. More on this as I progress on the project. As I've mentioned before, "What retirement?"

Have a great day. I have too much reviewing and commenting to catch up on in-forum to promise much, eh? But I'll give it a shot, lol. 🎯

BTW, why is there no shooting emoticon? At least, I can't find one.

Off to work with a bowl of year 2020 D&R Raccoon’s Friend in a pre-1980s straight dark brown Comoy's Sandblast 186 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Just let Daisy the Feral Princess in to eat. Harry the Hairy is inside snoozin', and the other two are outside snoozin'.

I'd love to have my own shooting range, something along the line of Hickok45's range.

I'd be very interested in the syllabus of your music appreciation course.

Job one upon retirement is to build me one. I don’t think my house would take too kindly to an indoor range with the kid of pistols we shoot in the lower 48, lol.

And on the other, as a music minor, you’ll get far more from listening if you take a music appreciation course. Highly recommended. You’ll be able to explain in detail WHY you like what you like, and know where ideas came from originally. Love rock or heavy metal? You’ll learn to know the connection between it and classical music. You might find you like opera, if not the un-musical snoots who just want to be seen watching it. And @gord would sure be a fun teacher!

Here’s the Winter of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons on electric guitar:

We’re in the tobacco section here, and I’d just like to say that while cigars may have a higher nic content in general, this SG No. 4 Brown Kendal twist has more nic in it than any full strength cigar I’ve ever had, especially for a given length. If you’re looking for a pipe tobacco with 5 star strength, check it out! Very flavorful and BBQ tasting, as well. Not just a nic bomb by any means, but a nic bomb it is.

Earlier, I smoked a bowl of year 2016 Hearth & Home AJ’s Vaper in a pre-1952 Sutliff Falcon 372 (made by Comoy’s) smooth light brown straight bulldog with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

I followed that up with a bowl of year 2016 D&R Two Timer Gold in a 1982 smooth straight Sasieni Ivory 105 Apple with a black vulcanite saddle stem. This was my first Sasieni. Bought it at my local Tinderbox for $9.95.

And I just lit up a bowl of Wilke Hearth of Galway in an undated smooth straight medium brown made in France Saillard Lord Clerit lumberman with a black vulcanite saddle stem.

Near the half way mark of this bowl of year 2018 Sutliff Dunhill Elizabethan Match in a straight smooth brown 1960s-70s BBB Own Make 506 Canadian with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Finished work for the day, and have other stuff to do.

Just finished smoking year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. The ferals came in and out, but all four ate. Sleepy Suzy is eating now.
